[paragraph break] It's several layers high, covered in heavy chocolate buttercream frosting that must be homemade. There are icing roses, multicolored sprinkles; if it can be done without the help of a full-scale bakery kitchen, Killua did it-- and spectacularly, too. He denies it, but you can tell he must have worked really hard to bake this cake for you. There is a small cat's face made of dark chocolate leaned against the second-to-top layer; and carefully arranged in a circle around the outer rim of the very top are thirteen candles. You have to blow them out!" Instead of eating birthday_cake, say "You can't eat it until[if every present is not yay] you open all your presents and[end if] blow out your candles!" Being very careful not to rip the paper more than necessary, you find...[paragraph break]A small, hand-decorated notebook that says 'Friendship Coupons -- From Killua to Gon' on the front.[paragraph break]'Huh?' You say. [paragraph break]Killua looks sheepish as he averts his eyes and scratches the back of his neck. 'S-- shut up. I'm not good at thinking of presents, okay?'[paragraph break]But that's not what you were curious about; you've never heard of 'friendship coupons' before. Opening the little notebook, you find that each page, in Killua's best handwriting, is a different declaration of some kind of favor. 'This coupon is valid for choosing what kind of pizza we order. Once.' 'Present this coupon to redeem me letting you win one round of Mario Kart so that you don't whine like a baby because I'm better at video games than you.' (This one makes you yell, 'Killua!' To which he laughs and says, 'See?')[paragraph break]You get distracted for a while, falling silent as your flip through the book. Eventually Killua says 'Yeah, I know it's dumb. I'm sorry. I'm pretty lazy, so, you know, I wasn't able to--'[paragraph break]'I love it, Killua!' You say, completely honestly.[paragraph break]His face goes red, dumbfounded. "; say "[paragraph break]Leorio takes the awesome gift from you and runs with it to the other room, where he carefully puts it with your other stuff. 'I haven't been able to afford much lately. But I thought you would really like these. And I know you probably wear through a lot of socks with all the walking you and Killua do. You want to avoid blisters.'[paragraph break]'Thank you, Kurapika!' When play begins: say "Your name is Gon Freecss and it is 5/5. And today, Killua, Kurapika and Leorio have undertaken to throw you a surprise birthday party. [paragraph break] Except, it was never really a surprise, even before now, as you stand in the kitchen with the multicolored confetti from the party popper all over the floor and your found family singing you happy birthday. Maybe it was the secretive shopping trips that you totally couldn’t go on. Maybe it was the fact that you saw an apron in your and Killua’s laundry during your last (sporadic) trip to the laundromat, and then took ten full minutes trying to think of the last time you had ever seen Killua cook something that could possibly require an apron. (You never have.) Or maybe it was just the way Kurapika was trying not to smile when he ushered you out of Leorio’s apartment early this morning, while he, Killua, and Leorio himself stayed behind-- oh come on, Gon, you really need to get out of the house. You’ve been indoors for like, eight solid hours, sleeping. It’s not normal for you. [paragraph break] No matter the lack of surprise, the smile on your face a moment ago as you walked into the kitchen was one hundred percent genuine. [paragraph break] After the initial kerfluffle of song and laughter, Kurapika points out all the decorations he’s painstakingly gone through the trouble of arranging. Leorio enthuses about the gifts that he bought on behalf of-- that he helped everyone pick, because, you know, they haven’t got good shopping sense, haha-- and Killua keeps looking between you and the enormous cake on the table, like he’s trying to gauge your reaction." Killua is a male person in the kitchen. The description of Killua is "He's got some icing on his fingers, and you're not sure if it's there from when he was baking your cake, or if he's been stealing bites when you're not looking, or maybe both. The description of Kurapika is "He looks very calm, very happy, and very proud of himself. He smiles serenely over the little party." Leorio is a male person in the kitchen. Carry out talking to Leorio: say "'Gon, hurry up and open your presents so we can eat the cake!'". Carry out talking to Kurapika: say "'Do you like the decorations I put up, Gon?'". Carry out talking to Killua: say "'Hurry up and open your presents, stuuupid!'" Check blowing out candles: if a present is not yay: say "You have to open all your presents first!"; rule fails. Carry out blowing out candles: say "[paragraph break]Are you ready?[paragraph break]Make a wish![paragraph break]Gon Freecss had a very happy birthday."; end the game in victory.
