"Hobbit: The Game p.1" Warning-Disclaimer is a room. "This rather poorly coded text-based video game is my first attempt at doing so and was done within a time limit as a school project. Thus, playing this could lead to boredom instead of entertainment. Go up to begin the game." Bag-End is above Warning-Disclaimer. "[if the Bag-End is unvisited]This is Bag-End. The home your father, Bungo Baggins had built. It is infact the most luxurious hobbit hole in all of The Shire. Never before being on an adventure, which all hobbits except for the Took and Brandybuck families utterly shun, your lineage, the Baggins family is highly respectable among the community. But whilst sitting down for your second breakfast this morning, there came knock on your door. Opening your door, Gandalf, a wizard, came bustling into your home, beckoning you to [bold type]read the note[roman type] on your mantelpiece. [bold type]OBJECTIVE: READ NOTE[roman type][end if][if the Bag-End is visited]Well... Why are you still here? You've got an adventure to attend to haven't you?[end if]" Here is a note and leftover breakfast. The description of the note is "Reading the note, you immediately knew you had to hurry. Suddenly realizing the dwarves that came with Gandalf last night were serious about the adventure they wanted him to join. you had no choice but to oblige. The note asks you to be at Green Dragon Inn, Bywater at 11 a.m. sharp. It is currently 10:50 a.m. You'd better hurry" The leftover breakfast is edible. After eating the leftover breakfast: say "Although you really shouldn't be wasting time doing this especially with Gandalf's urgency regarding the note, it was DELICIOUS"; award 50 points. The wood door is a closed door. The wood door is east of Bag-End. Your Garden is east of the wood door. "[if Your Garden is unvisited]Ahhh!!! The wonderful scent of flowers fill your nostrils and you really would have liked to just stand there and enjoy it but Gandalf was there staring at you. You'd better hurry.[end if][if Your Garden is visited]The fragrant smell of flowers and other plants flow into your nostrils reminding you of how much you love your home and hate adventures.[end if]" Here is a Flowers and a Shovel. The description of the shovel is "Your typical gardening tool. I wonder what it's used for." The Flowers is edible. The description of the Flowers is "The results of all your hard work in the garden." After eating Flowers: say "WHY WOULD YOU DO SUCH A THING?!??!!?!?!?!"; end the game in death. Gandalf is a person in Your Garden. Instead of telling Gandalf about something: say "Whaa...?? NO TIME FOR THAT!!! OFF YOU GO!!!" Instead of asking Gandalf about something: say "Whaa...?? NO TIME FOR THAT!!! OFF YOU GO!!!" Bywater is east of Your Garden. "You've made it here in just in time. The thirteen dwarves; Thorin, Ori, Nori, Dori, Balin, Dwalin, Fili, Kili, Bifur, Bofur, Oin, Gloin and Bombur. Gandalf seems to have followed you here to." The Water is north of Bywater. "This is the stream known to the locals as The Water, the namesake of the community of Bywater. As far as you're concerned, it is completely unrelated to your quest. Besides, ordinary hobbits strictly can't swim and would most likely drown." The fish is in The Water. The fish is edible. The description of the fish is "It's a live swimming fish. Do you really want to eat this?" After eating the fish: say "You walked down to the slimy bank and tried to grab the fish. But whilst reaching out for the fish, you lost your balance, fell and drowned in the river's swift current."; end the game in death. After taking the fish: say "You walked down to the slimy bank and tried to grab the fish. But whilst reaching out for the fish, you lost your balance, fell and drowned in the river's swift current."; end the game in death. Shire Borders is east of Bywater. "This is the beginning of your journey. From here on, you will no longer be able to return. Make sure you have everything you need first." The Road is east of Shire Borders."[if The Road is unvisited] Your adventure begins! Already you are beginning to feel regret again as the lack of meals, wet weather and the queer, sinister atmosphere takes a toll on your morale! You really don't want to camp on the wet muddy group. [bold type]Looking around abit might help.[roman type][end if][if The Road is visited]Already you are beginning to feel regret again as the lack of meals, wet weather and the queer, sinister atmosphere takes a toll on your morale! After looking for a while, you notice a [bold type]small fire slightly north of the path.[roman type] Upon noticing this, Thorin requests speaking with you.[bold type] OBJECTIVE: ASK THORIN ABOUT FIRE[roman type][end if]" The Road is west of The Road. Thorin is a person in The Road. Thorin can be calm or impatient. Thorin is calm. Instead of asking Thorin about "fire": say "Now it is the burglar's turn. You must go on and find out all about the light, and what it is for, and if all is perfectly safe and canny. Now scuttle off, come back quick, if all is well. If not, come back if you can! If you can't, hoot twice like a barn-owl and once like a screech-owl, and we will do what we can.[bold type]OBJECTIVE: INVESTIGATE FIRE[roman type]"; now Thorin is impatient. Instead of asking impatient Thorin about "fire": say "Well? Scuttle off now will you?" Clouds is above Shire Borders. "You are in a strange room. There is a box in the corner of the room." The box is in the Clouds. The box is a closed openable container. In the box is a cookie and an Easter Egg. The cookie is edible. The description of the cookie is "A typical chocolate chip cookie... With mold on it." After eating the cookie: say "Ughh... It's all soggy and moldy... You began to vomit."; award -5 points. The Easter Egg is edible. After eating the Easter Egg: say "www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0"; award 10 points. Troll's Lair is north of The Road."Mmmmm.... the scent of roasted mutton coupled with the warmth of the fire is rather comforting but wait.....Oh noes! It seems this cave is inhabited by [bold type]TROLLS.[roman type] Luckily they haven't noticed you yet.. Maybe... it might be a good idea to [bold type] pickpocket the trolls[roman type] as to not return empty-handed.[bold type]OBJECTIVE: PICKPOCKET THE TROLLS[roman type]" The Trolls is a person in Troll's Lair. Instead of examining the Trolls: say "It seems there are three rather large trolls arguing... Maybe you could just sneak by them and maybe pick pocket them." Understand "pick-pocketing [something]" and "robbing [something]" and "pickpocket [something]" as attacking. Instead of attacking the Trolls: say "As soon as the purse left the nearest troll, William's, pocket it shrieked. Ere, 'oo are you? William grabs you buy the neck before you could do anything else"; move player to Trolled. Instead of attacking the Trolls: say "Not knowing how to hoot like any owl, the dwarves slowly headed one-by-one towards the fire to investigate, not knowing what dangers lurked there.";move Thorin to Trolled. Trolled is a room."[If Trolled is unvisited]Blimey, Bert, look what I've copped! What are y...? A wha? A burrahobbit?! What's a burrahobbit got to do with my pocket anyways? Said William. And can yer cook 'em? said Tom. Bert replies in affirmative and picks up a skewer but immediately after William disagrees and suggest freeing you. Soon an argument breaks out and Bill sticks his fist into William's eye. This is your chance to escape! [bold type]Look around for somewhere to go![roman type][end if][If Trolled is visited]There it is! To the south the area is abit larger, you might be able to stay out of the circle of firelight there and remain hidden. Quick before you get squashed!" Hiding is South of trolled. "Due to my inexperience with coding, I've splitted the game into multiple parts. Continue here: http://playfic.com/games/Alex_95751/hobbit-the-game-part-2"
