[Scene 1 - Bedroom] Part I - Vacuuming Vacuuming is a scene. Vacuuming begins when play begins. Vacuuming ends when score is 5. The Bedroom is a room. The description of Bedroom is "[if unvisited]Your eyes open, and you're staring at the ceiling of your bedroom. Three cracks in the corner and a splatch of stained paint in the center shaped like a cloverleaf from when you stuck Playdoh on the ceiling when you were five. The rest of the room is the same: your bed in the corner, desk against the far wall next to the door, dresser by the window, end table next to the bed[otherwise]Your room is the same as you left it[end if]" The bed is an object in Bedroom. The bed is a container and enterable. The bed is fixed in place. The desk is an object in Bedroom. The description of the desk is "It's an old, wooden desk, something Dad found in a garage sale five years ago. It does what it needs to." The desk is fixed in place. The laptop is on the desk. The description of the laptop is "It's sleek, modern, new. You just got it last year, as a sixteenth birthday present. It's a fancy gaming laptop, too. Plenty of room for all your video games." The plant is an object in Bedroom. The plant is scenery. The description of the plant is "It's a ficus, some fake thing Mom put in your room for decoration." After examining laptop: say "Maybe you should sit and play a little bit. You just got a new game, and you've been dying to try it out." Sitting is an action applying to one thing. Understand "sit on [something]" as sitting. After sitting in chair, say "You settle into the fancy computer chair you bought with your own money last summer working at the local grocery store." After using laptop for the first time, say "You turn on the laptop, and shortly after your home screen greets you. You pull up the game file and double click the icon to start the game. After using laptop for the second time, say "You have to make a screen name to start out, so you type in Trogdor69. The name is yours, and you start out the first level. You hear Mom calling you from the living room. 'What?' you shout back, eyes glued to the screen. If you look away, you might die, and you don't want to lose on the first level. 'Come clean the living room, it needs to be vacuumed!' she shouts back, and her tone leaves no room for arguments. You sigh, and shut your laptop." The wooden door is a door. The wooden door is south of the Bedroom and north of the Hallway. The wooden door is openable and closed. [Scene 2 - Living Room] The Hallway is south of the wooden door. The description of the Hallway is "[if unvisited]The hallway is bare but for a painting of a dog wearing a suit hanging on the wall. Your parents have no taste[otherwise]The bathroom is to the east, the living room to the south.[end if]" The Living Room is south of the Hallway. The description of the Living Room is "[if unvisited] It's a medium-sized room, perfect for a family of four, with a worn down couch against one wall and a violet loveseat against another[otherwise]The kitchen is off through a small, open doorway to the east[end if]." The couch is an object in the Living Room. The couch is a container and enterable. The couch is fixed in place. The description of the couch is "The Ikea couch is soft, plush, and everything you could want in a couch. You've spent hours napping on it, but today you need to clean." After using vacuum, say "You run the vacuum around the living room. The living room clean of dust, you shut off the vacuum. You want to continue your new game, but you should return the vacuum to the closet before you head back to your room. Mom'll freak if you leave it lying in the middle of the room." [Scene 3 - Bedroom] Instead of using laptop for the third time: if we have not used the vacuum, say "You should listen to your mother, otherwise she'll nag you all day today and tomorrow and the day after." After using laptop for the fourth time: say "You pull up the game again, hoping for some peace. You pull up your saved game and start up the first level again where you left off. It's a first-person shooter style of game that takes place 100 years in the future. Your character is a soldier leading a mission to a foreign planet Earth discovered forty years ago. They have recently recieved odd messages from the base, and send you and your team of four space soldiers to check it out. The game began with you landing on the planet. Past the first round of alien killing, you have to enter the base."; increase the score by 5. Part II - Entering the Base Base is a scene. Base begins when Vacuuming ends. Base ends when score is 15. When Base begins: say "You step cautiously into the narrow front hall. It is metal up and down the hall, the builders having put practicality above prettiness for this base operation. A mysterious red substance splatters the walls. You signal your team forward. Ahead, to the north, is a door."; move the player to Front Hall. Front Hall is a room. The description of Front Hall is "Red covers the walls, the floor - you try not to wonder how many people one would need to produce this much blood. To the north is a door." Metal door is a door. Metal door is north of Front Hall. Metal door is lockable and locked. Metal key unlocks Metal door. Metal key is an object in Front Hall. After taking Metal key, increase score by 5. Front Room is north of Metal door. The description of Front Room is "The room beyond is dark, the lighting having gone out years ago. As you step into the room, your boots slip slightly on a damp floor and a rancid smell assaults your nose. You turn on your flashlight, and reveal blood smears spread all over the room. Fresh blood coats the floor, as do suspicious lumps in the corners that you shy your light away from. You run your light over the entire room, noting its domed ceiling and the walkways circling around the room. You catch movement out of the corner of your eye and turn quickly, light blurring across the room." Alien is an animal in Front Room. After examining Alien: increase score by 5; say "The creature growls, and lunges for you. Is someone calling your name?"
