When play begins, say "A tour of Henry Hudson's first ship and voyage, by William Roberts." Bay is a room. The description of the bay is "It's 1607 in London. A few days ago, I was hired by the Muscovy Company to find a Northeast Passage to China, also known as the Far East. They gave me enough funds to hire a crew of ten. I have assembled a motley crew, since the most skilled sailors did not want to go on such a perilous journey across uncharted sea. Our ship, The Hopewell, will depart soon. We better get going! *west*" Dock is west of Bay. The description of the dock is "The board up to the ship is in front of me, while the Thames River roars around me. *north*" Main deck is a room. It is north of Dock. The description of Main deck is " The masts tower around me. I have a great view of the city of London from here. I see my sails flapping in the wind, and the crow's nest is above me ." Captain's Chamber is a room. Captain's Chamber is west of Main deck. The description of the Captain's chamber is "My glorious room. Since I am the captain of the ship, my room is much nicer. I have a map of our journey plan to find the Northeast passage. I also have a letter from my wife, Katherine, and my kids, Oliver, John and Richard." Map is in Captain's chamber. The description of the map is " This is a map of our route. We will sail NW, past Iceland, and follow Greenland's coast for a while. Then, we will sail to Spitsbergen, where we will most certainly find a Northeast passage." Letter is in Captain's chamber. The description of the letter is "Dear Henry, I hope you find this Northeast passage you are looking for. If you do, I'm sure it will fulfill your dream of getting rich. I am glad you are taking our son, John, along with you as your cabin boy. I will miss you greatly, Love, Katherine." Crow's nest is above the Main Deck. The description of the Crow's nest is "What a view! I can see my house near the Tower of London from here!" Hold is below Main deck. The description of the hold is " This is where we store the cargo and food. I have packed a lot of food, since our journey to find the Northeast will be long and hard." Pen is in Captain's Chamber. The description of Pen is "This will be used to draw the maps of our wonderful voyage!" The helm is in Main deck. The description of the helm is "A sturdy wheel made of wood. This will turn and control the rudder of our beautiful ship. Take this to start your voyage, but only after you have been explored the ship thoroughly." Instead of taking the helm: say "The Hopewell takes sail, moving towards my dream of becoming rich. The waters rush around me, and I am exhilarated. I'm off to find a Northeast Passage!"; say "As we near Greenland, I begin to worry. Strong winds begin to blow in from the east, bringing heavy fog and freezing weather. I plan to stay along the coast of Greenland and wait it out."; move player to Spitsbergen. Spitsbergen is a room. The description of Spitsbergen is "I have reached the islands of Spitsbergen after following the coast of Greenland for many miles. I have seen many whales here, and I will report this back to the Muscovy Company after returning to England. I hope this information will help England with their whaling industry. *south* " Ice floe problem is south of Spitsbergen. The description of Ice floe problem is " Our ship has encountered a large ice floe, and after many hours of trying to get out of the way, God has come to my rescue and pushed our ship away. After the weather and now this, I have decided to turn back." Wow is south of Ice floe problem. Instead of going south from ice floe problem: end the story saying "I have returned to England after failing to find a Northeast passage. The Muscovy is pleased with the maps I have drawn, and I hope to set sail again soon."
