The Courtyard is a room. "You are in the elves courtyard. You can go north to the Palace, west to the orchard, and east to the kitchens." When play begins, say "The dwarves, whom you have so recently saved from giant spiders, have been captured by elves and locked up! You have to save them... AGAIN!". When play begins, change the right hand status line to "[current weekday] [current daytime]". The description of the player is "Bilbo: a plump little hobbit". The player carries Sting. The description of sting is "Your dagger. It is still warm from cutting all of those spiderweb cocoons!" The player wears a Ring. The description of the ring is "It is still REALLY pretty.... Almost... precious..." Instead of taking off the ring: say "You might get caught by the elves if you do that!"; stop the action. A weekday is a kind of value. The weekdays are Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. The current weekday is a weekday that varies. The current weekday is Monday. A daytime is a kind of value. The daytimes are morning, lunch, noon, teatime, evening, night. The current daytime is a daytime that varies. The current daytime is teatime. This is the new advance time rule: Every turn: if the current daytime is less than night: now the current daytime is the daytime after the current daytime; otherwise: now the current daytime is morning; now the current weekday is the weekday after the current weekday. Orchard is west of courtyard. "You are standing in a beautiful orchard of apple trees. To the east is the courtyard." An Apple is in the orchard. The apple is edible. The description of the apple is "You have never seen an apple so red and juicy." After eating apple: say "Mmm! That was so delicious!" Elrohir is a man in the orchard. The description of elrohir is "A tall, sturdy-looking elf. He seems to be wandering around the orchard, muttering 'I can never wait until Fridays! That's when we have parties!' You realize that a party is the perfect time to bust the dwarves out!". Instead of asking Elrohir about anything: say "You can't talk to anybody! You'll blow your cover!" Instead of telling Elrohir about something: say "You can't talk to anybody! You'll blow your cover!" Instead of asking Guard about anything: say "You can't talk to anybody! You'll blow your cover!" Instead of telling Guard about something: say "You can't talk to anybody! You'll blow your cover!" Instead of asking Elven King about anything: say "You can't talk to anybody! You'll blow your cover!" Instead of telling Elven King about something: say "You can't talk to anybody! You'll blow your cover!" Kitchen is east of the courtyard. "The ovens are sweltering hot, and orange light dances around the room. There are beautifully drawn posters on the walls that advertise a party every Friday. The perfect day to break the dwarves out! To the west is the courtyard." Trumpet is in the kitchen. Understand "bugle" as trumpet. The description of trumpet is "A brass bugle; probably for military use." Palace Doors is north of the courtyard. "The huge, majestic doors of the palace loom ominously over you from the north. You notice a large window about 50 feet up. To the south is the courtyard." Guard is a man in the palace doors. The description of guard is "An elf with shining armor on. He appears to be sleeping." Palace Court is north of palace doors. "You are in a large room, probably for dancing and meals: your favorite things. There is a sweeping staircase. Going up it will take you to a balcony. To the east is the Eastern Tower. To the south are the palace doors." Instead of going north from palace doors while guard is in palace doors: say "The guard will definitely hear you if you try to open those doors!"; stop the action. Blowing is an action applying to one thing. Understand "blow [something]" and "play [something]" as blowing. Check blowing: If the noun is not trumpet, say "You can't blow that!" instead; if the noun is trumpet, say "You blow the trumpet." After blowing the trumpet for the first time: say "You hear a clattering of armor as the guard of the palace doors runs to the courtyard at attention. He must have thought it was a military call!"; now guard is in the courtyard. East Tower is east of Palace Court. "This isn't a very tall tower, or you would have seen it from the Huge Tree. The dripping ceiling and damp floor make you wonder why the elves haven't cleaned up this place. To the west is the court. You can see that the stairs go both up and down..." Jail Gates is below east tower. "The only light here comes from a single lighted torch in a sconce on a wall. You can see an oak door with a barred window to the north. Some stairs behind you go upwards to the East Tower." Torch is a lit thing in jail gates. Torch is scenery. The description of torch is "It's just a torch. What more do you want?" Oak Door is north of jail gates. Oak Door is a locked door. Instead of opening oak door while oak door is locked: say "It's locked! Well, of course, since it's in a dungeon."; stop the action. Beautiful Staircase is above palace court. "The stairs here are finely carved, and the banister is very smooth. Going up will take you to a balcony overlooking the court, and going down will take you to the court." Balcony is above Beautiful staircase. "You can look down over the court. Going down will take you to said court. Going north will take you into the throne room." Throne is north of Balcony. "You enter a room lavishly decorated with natural accents. On a throne of branches and possibly antlers sits the king. Going south will take you to the balcony." Elven King is a man in the throne. The description of Elven King is "A tall, well-dressed man. He seems to be muttering to himself about some 'rude prisoner'." Elven King is wearing a green robe. Understand "king" as elven king. Chair is in the throne. Chair is scenery. Understand "throne" as chair. The description of chair is "It is oddly built using antlers of deer and tree branches. It is decorated with flowers." Shelf is in throne. Shelf is scenery. Rusty Key is on shelf. The description of rusty key is "A rusty old key. It's a wonder the thing should even work." Rusty key unlocks oak door. Dungeon is north of oak door. "This is a very dank (haha I said 'dank') room, dripping with moisture. To the south is the gates, and to the north is the darkest cell. To the east is a very loud dungeon corridor." Darkest Cell is north of dungeon. "This is the cell where all of the elves worst prisoners go. To the north is its door, and to the south is the hall." Cell Door is north of darkest cell. Cell Door is a closed door. Cell Door is a locked door. Cell is north of cell door. Thorin is a man in darkest cell. The description of thorin is "A tall (well, tall for dwarves), well-dressed dwarf. He has definitely been fed more than he had in Mirkwood! Why don't you ask him about a 'key'?" Instead of asking Thorin about "key": say "'What? Who's there?' he says. Tell him about 'Bilbo'." Instead of telling Thorin about "Bilbo": say "'Bilbo?!' He says. 'Where are you?! Never mind, just bust me out of here. On Fridays they have parties, so that's the perfect day to do it! The jailer's keys are in the loud hallway. I think that's where the other dwarves are.'" Instead of telling Thorin about "bilbo": say "'Bilbo?!' He says. 'Where are you?! Never mind, just bust me out of here. On Fridays they have parties, so that's the perfect day to do it! The jailer's keys are in the loud hallway. I think that's where the other dwarves are.'" Loud Hallway is east of dungeon. "In here, you can hear the loud squabbling of dwarves and the shouting of the jailer trying to keep them quiet." Reinforced Door is south of loud hallway. Reinforced door is a closed door. Reinforced door is a locked door. Jailer is a man in loud hallway. The description of jailer is "A freakishly tall elf with a club. He seems to have a splitting headache. Ask him about 'keys'." Instead of asking jailer about "keys": say "He says, 'Gah, I can't see a thing with me headache! Tell me your name first.'"; say "You think quickly. Do you know the name of any of the elves here? If so, tell him about it." Instead of telling jailer about "elrohir": say "'Elrohir, eh? Here ye go. I'm going to rest in me room.' The guard hands you the keys and walks off."; move keys to player; move jailer to courtyard. Keys are an object. Jailer is carrying keys. The description of keys is "Wow, they are REALLY shiny!" Keys unlock reinforced door. Keys unlock cell door. Instead of unlocking reinforced door with keys while current weekday is not Friday: say "You can't bust them out until the next Friday, when the elves are having a party!"; stop the action. Instead of unlocking cell door with keys while current weekday is not Friday: say "You can't bust them out until Friday, when the elves are having a party!"; stop the action. Dwarves' Cell is south of reinforced door. "This is a cell. Duh." Russia is above East Tower. "You go through some weird, messed-up universe. Below you is the portal back to your own universe." Putin is a man in Russia. The description of Putin is "'Hey, whatcha doin?' [line break] 'Putin'". Instead of asking Putin about anything: say "'Meow,' he says." Instead of telling Putin about anything: say "'I like trains,' he says." Instead of attacking putin: say "Sauercraut and cheese." Dwarves is a man in dwarves' cell. The description of dwarves is "All of the dwarves: well, except for Thorin." After unlocking reinforced door with keys for the first time: say "The dwarves seem a bit scared to see floating keys, but you assure them that it is you. They nod and run out of the dungeon. Kili says, 'Meet us in the High Room above the palace doors!'"; move dwarves to High Room. After unlocking cell door with keys for the first time: say "Thorin thanks you mightily and hands you a strange object. 'It's a lavatory paper rope,' he says, and tells you to meet him in the High Room."; move Thorin to High Room; move Rope to player. High Room is above Palace Doors. "Thorin is standing here[if dwarves are in high room] along with the dwarves[end if]. The room is full of barrels." Rope is an object. Thorin is carrying rope. The description of rope is "A 50 foot rope made of entwined pieces of toilet paper. Some of it looks used." Instead of going up from palace doors while rope is not enclosed by the player: say "That is WAY too high to climb."; stop the action. After going up from Palace Doors while Dwarves is in high room for the first time: say "You see piles of barrels and instruct all of the dwarves to climb in. Then you push them into the hole in the ground next to the barrels. You hear them scream as they roll down and splash into the river below. You hear the elves coming to investigate, so you jump down the hole..."; end the game in victory.
