Understand "Deactivate [something]" as deactivating. Deactivating is an action applying to one thing. Check Activating: if the noun is activated, say "The computer is already activated." instead; Carry out Activating: now the noun is activated. Report activating something: say "The computer is now activated.". Check Deactivating: if the noun is deactivated, say "The computer is already deactivated." instead; Carry out Deactivating: now the noun is deactivated. Report deactivating something: say "The computer is now deactivated.". Check inserting something into the computer: if the computer is deactivated, say "You cannot insert a CD into a deactivated Computer." instead. A Computer is in the lab. A Computer is a container. A Computer can be activated or deactivated. After inserting the cd into the computer: end the story saying "You have inserted the CD into the computer: THE END."
