Section 1 ------ Rooms ----- Outside Front Door is a room. "You're outside your front door. The door is to the west and your lovely Front Yard is to the south." The South Yard is a room. It is south of Outside Front Door. "This is the lovely South Yard of your home." Section 2 -----Things----- The doormat is in Outside Front Door. The description of the doormat is "An ordinary doormat." Understand "mat" as the doormat. A note is a thing. The description of the note is "It reads, 'The Chicken hides the spare.'" Instead of taking the doormat: move the note to the player; say "You find a note under the doormat and pick it up." A plaster chicken is in the South Yard. It is a closed openable container. The description of the plaster chicken is "A familiar lawn ornament." A key is in the plaster chicken. The oak door is in Outside Front Door. Section 3 -----Rules----- When play begins: say "Pick up the toy that solves the riddle." Section 4 -----Ending Conditions----- Instead of going West in Outside Front Door when the player carries the key: say "You unlock the door and enter the house. Congratulations! You've finished the story."; end the story.
