"The Dragon Gems | Part 1 | Ruby" by Flame [INTRODUCTION] When play begins: say "This is part 1 of 5 in a WIP series. I publish it so I can test it out better. This game is NOT FINISHED yet. I will remove this message when it is. Started January 29th, 2023 Please enjoy!" The forest is a room. "You are in a forest. You can remember your geography lessons and deduce that this is Alanfyre Woods. It is dangerous to be here at night. Unfortunately, the trees are so close together you cannot tell if it is day or night. You should leave. North is a clearing. West is an old dirt road." The clearing is north of the forest. "The trees block out most light. It is very dim." The candle is in the clearing. It is lit. The description of the candle is "It flickers dimly. The flame is cold. You remember having one of these as a child- it is an Eternal Flame. It will never go out." The old dirt road is west of the forest. "This road has been traveled by many, but it seems empty now. The road cuts through the forest, the break in the trees allowing you to see the cloudy afternoon sky. The road stretches southwest." The road split is southwest of the old dirt road. "The road splits here- west leads deeper into the Alanfyre Woods. The trees start to thin out to the south. The road also stretches northeast, back the way you came." Alanfyre Woods is west of the road split. "You start to get scared as you venture deeper into the dark forest. Rumors of people gone missing in these woods float in your mind, but you try to ignore them. Regardless, the woods soon grow too thick to continue, and you cannot see a thing anyways. East is back the way you came." Alanfyre Village is south of the road split. "Strangely, the lively village of Alanfyre is silent. No children out playing, no women out shopping in the market, no dogs barking. Not a soul in sight... Wait. North is back the way you came. South leads to Alanfyre castle. West leads to an open plain. Southwest leads to Alanfyre castle stables." The small copper coin, the leg bone, and the tin cup are in Alanfyre Village. The scared young child is a person in Alanfyre Village. The description of the small copper coin is "The coin is rusted, and covered with dirt. It is hardly worth anything, maybe half of an orange." The description of the tin cup is "The tin cup once held some sort of liquid... but it is as dry as dust now. Something shines in the bottom, but you can't tell what it is." The description of the leg bone is "You wonder what- or who- this leg bone belonged to. It has a faint crack in it... someone has sucked out the marrow and the bone is nothing more than a dry husk." The description of the scared young child is "The young child shivers nervously. She doesn't seem to notice you, and is staring at the ground as if it is the most interesting thing in the world. Maybe you should try to talk to her." piece of parchment is in the broken hut. Instead of asking the scared young child about something: say "She looks up at you with wide eyes, muttering something unintelligible." Instead of telling the scared young child about something: say "She looks up sharply with wide eyes and squeaks in alarm before throwing something at your feet and scurrying away. It looks to be a piece of parchment."; move the scared young child to broken hut; move piece of parchment to Alanfyre village The broken hut is a room. You can go south, into the castle grounds. You can also go north, back to the village. You may also go east or west, into the moat." Open plains is a room. "Flower filled and the essence of warm summer days, the plains exude peace and serenity." The horse is an animal in open plains. "Grazing serenely it seems content by itself." The description of the horse is "The horse looks up and whinnies as you draw near. The horse has a dull black coat." Alanfyre castle stables is a room. The moat is east of Alanfyre castle gate. The moat is west of Alanfyre castle gate. The moat is a room. "The water looks murky. Is that something swimming in there? Perhaps you'd be better off staying on the bridge." It is south of Alanfyre castle gate. Castle throne room is a room. "Empty, like the rest of the palace. Something is definitely going on. But perhaps it doesn't concern you.
