[paragraph break] You're one of the most trusted members of the Incitement, a secret organization dedicated to the dethronement of the merciless oligarchy of cyborgs who run the planet. You were sent on mission to infiltrate their headquarters and find as much information on how to overcome the cyborgs as possible. [paragraph break] Now, you were caught and have nothing but a small photoelectric blaster. As Einstein discovered four hundred fifty years ago, electrons move at different speeds based on the color of the light shining on a piece of metal. You curse as you realize that the light inside is glowing faintly and sparking. 'Must be from that ten-foot drop,' you mutter. You don't realize that you're about to step into another trap door. [paragraph break] You fall and are knocked out. [paragraph break] When you wake up you see that you're in a dingy, dirty room. The lights are off, and you can't see anything. You know that this is a infamous Control computer, the computer which serves as a database for the oligarchy's plans and data. It also has the capability to infect the minds of citizens and turn them into allies for the cyborgs. Luckily, this feature is still in development. You decide that this would be a good time to throw your grenade and destroy one of the most important features of the cyborgs' HQ. [paragraph break] You need protection from the grenade's radiation! Take and wear either the tungsten shield or silver shield on the ground in front of you."[end if][if the Control Room is visited] The steel floor is fixed in place in the Control Room. He stares at you with crimson eyes, one mechanical and one organic. [paragraph break] Escape while you can! Go back west!"[end if][if the Arena is visited] The Cyborg HQ is a room. It is west of the Control Room. The Cyborg Leader is a person in the Cyborg HQ. The HQ Scene is a scene. The HQ Scene begins when the player is in the Cyborg HQ for the first time. When HQ Scene begins: say "You bolt into what seems to be the cyborgs' headquarters. A monitor the size of a tractor-trailer is fixed into the wall ahead. The room itself, you realize, is approximately half the size of an airplane hangar. Complex robots and other gizmos litter the ground and dangle from hooks on the walls. But you have no time to waste. They're coming! As you scan the walls for a window, a nauseous feeling settles over you as you realize that you just walked right into a trap. [paragraph break] The walls are lined with piercing red eyes, and the Cyborg Leader is standing in front of you, your photoelectric blaster twirling in his hand. His smug, malicious smile makes you want to sink into the door behind you. You realize with a sinking feeling that you have no choice but to fight an impossible fight, or perish where you stand now. You must attack the Leader! [paragraph break] 'Let's do this.'" Instead of attacking the Cyborg Leader: increase score by 1 ; say "With speed you never knew you possessed, you leap off the ground and snatch your blaster from the mechanical grasp of the Leader, performing a perfect front flip as you land. [paragraph break] Quick! Jump before you're hit!" Instead of jumping: increase score by 1 ; say "You leap high into the air. The surprise on the metallic face of the Leader is as satisfying as ever. Just as the cyborgs raise their blasters into the air, ready to fire, you plunge down onto the Leader. Using his face as a launch pad, you catapult off and land on the floor like a ninja. With a grin, you realize that you're actually winning!" The Final Scene is a scene. The Final Scene begins when the score is 2. When the Final Scene begins: say "The Confrontation [paragraph break] The Cyborg Leader is glaring at you with the same crimson eyes, but now, you can tell that he is weary. He certainly did not expect to be pushed to such inner reserves of strength during the fight. [paragraph break] You step forward. 'Now you understand the consequences of the actions of yourself and the rest of the oligarchy. Surrender now, or die.' [paragraph break] 'I...I surrender!' the Leader manages, before he falls at your feet. 'Now, please spare me.' [paragraph break] You grit your teeth as you pick him up and hurl him against the wall in front of you. [paragraph break] 'Not good enough.' [paragraph break] The Leader groans and falls face-first onto the hard ground. But you aren't done with him yet. You lift him and slam him against the wall, holding him in place. [paragraph break] 'Who guided me here? Who left all the notes? And what about the dead body? Who killed that innocent man?' you demand, through gritted teeth. His answer is a bullet train crashing into you at full speed. [paragraph break] 'It was me.' You're speechless. You try, and fail, to say something back to him. [paragraph break] 'You see, I'm you.' Now you're sure there's something wrong with him. Maybe he hit his head too hard. [paragraph break] 'I am the Cyborg Leader, but I also am you, just in the future. I traveled back in time and guided you here. I killed that person, I left you that grenade.' A sinister smile creeps across his face. 'And now, you're mine. Or, should I say, you're yours.' His body flickers away, leaving you beyond words, and alone. The rest of the cyborg army is gone. Just you. Suddenly, your head fills with excruciating pain, and you crumple to the ground. The breath is forced out of you, and you're left there. [paragraph break] All alone. [paragraph break] Silence. [paragraph break] 'You're mine.' [paragraph break] You smile a monstrous smile." ; end the game in victory
