"Play with Rocco" by John L Living Room is a room. Rocco is a person in the Living Room. There is a piece of string in the Living Room. "You're in the living room and Rocco the cat has just spotted a piece of string that is out of his reach. East of this room is the kitchen, which smells like dosas." The Kitchen is east of the Living Room. "The kitchen smells like dosa batter. I wonder what Rocco is up to." Every turn when the location is the Kitchen, decrease the score by 5. Every turn when the location is the Kitchen, say "The kitchen smells good but I wonder how Rocco's doing." Instead of giving piece of string to Rocco: say "You dangle the string in front of Rocco and he grabs the other end. Pull or release?" Understand "play with Rocco" as waiting. Instead of waiting, say "Why don't you give Rocco the piece of string?" Instead of pulling the piece of string: say "You pull on the string. Rocco pulls back. Pull or release?"; increase the score by 5. Releasing is an action applying to nothing. Instead of releasing: say "You let go, but Rocco looks so disheartened that you grab the end of the string again. Pull or release?" Every turn: if score is 10 begin; end the story saying "You pull the string harder and take it away from Rocco. You win. Take that, cat."; end if. Every turn: if score is -5 begin; end the story saying "This game is called Play with Rocco and you chose to make dosas instead. Game over."; end if.
