"Vita in Pompeii" by INFORM7 EXPERT The Servant's House is a room. "The small, modest room where you begin your day. Your master has tasked you with buying bread from the market." The Market is east of the Servant's House. "A bustling center of trade. Stalls line the streets, and the aroma of fresh bread fills the air. A baker's stall catches your eye." The Master's House is west of the Servant's House. "A grand villa, your destination to return after purchasing the bread." The bread is a thing. The description is "Freshly baked, warm bread." The bread is in the Market. The baker is a person in the Market. The description is "A friendly baker, known for his fine bread." Buying is an action applying to one thing. Understand "buy [something]" as buying. Check buying: if the noun is not the bread: say "You can only buy bread here." instead; if the noun is the bread and the bread is not in the Market: say "You already have the bread." instead. Carry out buying the bread: say "You approach the baker to buy some bread. The price seems a bit high. Maybe you can haggle?"; now the player carries the bread. Haggling is an action applying to nothing. Understand "haggle" as haggling. Check haggling: if the player is not in the Market: say "There's no one to haggle with here." instead; if the player carries the bread: say "You've already bought your bread, no need to haggle now." instead. Carry out haggling: say "After some back-and-forth, the baker agrees to lower the price. You pay for the bread and take it with you."; now the player carries the bread. Every turn when the player is in the Master's House and the player carries the bread: end the story finally saying "You have successfully bought the bread and returned home. Your master is pleased. Well done!" Test me with "east / buy bread / haggle / west".
