"Bear's Adventure" by Madeline and Jacob sometimes. When play begins: say "There he is. Lying on his favorite pillow as he does every night. I sit in my favorite rocking chair, feeling slight unease as my back is to the entire dark scary room. I am alone. Jacob is not here. Jacob is at the circus. You know, I should take Bear to go find Jacob." Description of player is "You look awesome - stop worrying. " CHAPTER, THE PORCH The porch is a room. "The porch is dark. Rain is coming soon, and the only source of light is one of those lamps with three settings. It's on it's lowest setting. To the north is a wimpy door leading to the deck. Bear is sleeping quietly." A lamp is here. The lamp is fixed in place. The lamp is scenery. Instead of taking the lamp, say "It's kind of plugged in. Sorry." Bear is here. Bear is scenery. Description of Bear is "What a cute little dog he is. He's so soft and squishy and sleepy and old." Instead of taking Bear: say "You pick him up. He's really, really cute and he really wants to go with you to the circus." ; now the player is carrying Bear. Wimpy door is a closed door. Wimpy door is east of the porch, south of the deck. Wimpy door is scenery.
