The atrium is a room. "You're in the atrium of the Natural History Museum at which you work. You are the janitor, and you're covering the night shift for your sick coworker. You have worked at this museum for six months now, but have never seen it like this - dark and empty, illuminated only by the small, dim kettle lights dotting the ceiling. Tonight is deep-cleaning night but you're embarrassed to remember that you forgot to ask your coworker where he put the keys. All of the doors to the side rooms are locked. For now, you are trapped in the atrium. You figure he might have left the keys at the desk up front." Here is a desk. The desk is an object. The description is "It's a large desk with a single drawer." The drawer is a closed openable container. It is part of the desk. Inside the drawer is a silver key. The silver key unlocks the Metal Door. After taking the key: say "This isn't the ring of keys you're looking for, but it will unlock the storage closet. Perhaps your coworker left the rest of the keys in there? The storage closet is to the east, in a darkened corner of the atrium." The Metal Door is east of the atrium. The Metal Door is a door. The Metal door is locked. The storage closet is east of the Metal Door. The storage closet is a room. Here is a mop, bucket, and keys. A mop is an object. A bucket is an object. Every door besides the Metal Door is unlocked by the keys. After taking the keys: say "Here they are! Now you can get to work, starting with mopping the atrium floor." After taking the mop: say "You can hear a distant commotion from behind the Wooden Door. It sounds like the clattering of metal onto the floor." The Wooden Door is north of the storage closet. the Wooden Door is a door. The Wooden Door is an open door. The Break Room is through the Wooden Door. The Break Room is a room. A table and two metal chairs are scenery. "Two chairs are set around the break room table. One of them has been knocked to the ground. You notice immediately that the back door to the locker room is slightly ajar. You are suspicious. No one besides you is supposed to be in the museum at this time." The Back Door is north of the Break Room. The Back Door is an open door. The Locker Room is through the Back Door. The Locker Room is a room. Lockers and the bench are scenery. "Lockers line the walls. There is a bench in the center of the floor. The bench is slightly skewed. In the darkened corner you can make out the shape of a person." In the Locker Room is a man called a man in the shadows. After examining the man: say "A man steps out from the shadows. He holds a gun up and shoots you. You fall to the ground."
