The Deep woods is a room. "You are in the woods. The trees blot out the sun, and a unique darkness blankets all that is around you. Quite queer, you say to yourself. As you look forward North, you see a dirt path. South of you, there is a gravel path. To the West, there is a bridge over a wide stream, and to the East, an opening between the trees." The Bridge is a room. The Bridge is west of the Deep woods. "The bridge seems a bit wobbly. It continues West. The bridge emerges into a forest towards the East." The Pit is a room. The Pit is west of the Bridge. "The bridge ends here in a dead-end. It leads off into a pit of familiar darkness. There is a note on the far end of the bridge." The note is in the Pit. Description of the note is "You can read it from here. It says, 'Don't take me!'" After taking the note: say "The bridge collapses under you as you approach the piece of paper. You fall into the eternal darkness of the pit. Your life ends with a scream."; end the game in death. The Dirt path is a room. The Dirt path is north of the Deep woods. "This trail is long. As you look North, you see light at the end of the path. Behind you, there are the deeper woods." There is a wooden key in the Dirt path. The wooden key unlocks the wooden door. The wooden key unlocks the wooden chest. The Clearing is a room. The Clearing is north of the Dirt path. "There are numerous skeletons lying around in this area. Light shines upon them. South leads back to the dirt path." There is a skeleton in the Clearing. The pouch is on the skeleton. The chain mail chestplate is on the skeleton. The chain mail chestplate is wearable. After taking the chain mail chestplate: say "It seems valuable."; award 50 points. The pouch is closed, openable container. The Silver coin is in the pouch. After opening the pouch: say "There is a silver coin within, which entrances you. You get the sudden urge to take it." After taking the silver coin: say "You feel blessed!"; award 50 points. The Gravel path is a room. The Gravel path is south of the Deep woods. "There is a Witch's house at the end of this path, farther South. North of you, there is the deeper woods." The Witch's lawn is south of the Gravel path. "There is a small witch's shack south of the lawn. North of here, there is the gravel path. There is a wooden door that leads into the shack, South of here." The Wooden door is a closed locked door. The Wooden door is south of the Witch's lawn. The Wooden key unlocks Wooden door. The Witch's shack is a room. The Witch's shack is south of the Wooden door. "The place is a mess. North, there is the wooden door that leads out to the lawn. In the center of the area, there is a small, wooden chest." The wooden chest is a closed locked container. The wooden chest is in the Witch's shack. The gold key is in the wooden chest. After opening the wooden chest: say "The key within the chest, makes your heart skip a beat." After taking the gold key: say "You feel intrigued."; award 100 points. The Cave entrance is a room. The Cave entrance is east of the Deep woods. "There is a cave East ahead. The deeper woods are West." The merchant is a person in the Cave entrance. Every turn when the player can see the merchant: say "The merchant greets you." Instead of asking the merchant about something: say "You're an outsider, eh?". Instead of telling the merchant about something: say "Hey, just watch out for those grues, n' you're good t'go!" The Cave system is a room. The Cave system is east of the Cave entrance. "To the East, the path looks dangerous, with stalactites. North, the cave seems to go uphill. South, the path seems to go deeper into the Earth."
