release along with source text. The Entrance is a room. "[paragraph break]A cold breeze wakes you from a deep sleep. The room you awake to is dimly lit. To the North you see a heavy wood door. To the South you see a small patch of fallen bricks revealing an opening." The heavy wood door is a closed locked door. The rusty key unlocks the heavy wood door. The heavy wood door is north of the entrance and south of the hall. A large book is here. "In the corner, you see a very large antique book. On the cover, a short passage is covered by a layer of dust." The description is "The book is far heavier than it looks. You strain to lift it but you wipe away the thin layer of dust to reveal a cryptic message. 'Adventure begins when your life ends.'" A candle is in the entrance. The description is "A simple luminous candle." A desk is in the entrance. The description is "The desk is an antique, with metal drawers and a wooden work surface. Many drawers are rusted shut, but one is ajar." The drawer is part of the desk. The drawer is a closed openable container. In the drawer is a paper and a rusty key. The description of the paper is "You see a piece of paper with what looks like a madman's thoughts scribbled on it. [paragraph break]'i have been here too long to know how i arrived. how did i get here. i cant get out. the man here before me wrote out a map with an exit north of here. how far north? somethings out there. i can feel something watching me. if i don't leave now i think i might be trapped here. the walls are closing in.[paragraph break]if somebody comes looking for me... dont go south. something lives there. something is out there. run before its too late.'" The Abyss is a room. The Abyss is south of the Entrance. Every turn while in The Abyss: if score is 0 begin; say "You crawl through a small opening, the room you enter seems to go on for miles. 'HELLO!' you yell while lifting your candle to illuminate part of the large room. Your voice echoes back at you, louder and more distorted than before.[paragraph break]Suddenly something unfamiliar echoes back at you. Your candle is blown out, leaving you alone in the dark, unable to find your way back to the room you had just left. A chill runs up your spine and you feel watched as if you are the prey to an unknown hunter. Before you can turn to run, you drop to the ground, wounded without realizing it. You finally feel warmth surround you; what you believe to be your body at peace is really a puddle of blood and urine. Life leaves your body as you feel yourself dragged back to the room you started in."; end the game in death; end if. The Hall is a room. The Hall is north of the heavy wood door. "You use your candle to light your walk North. What you find are a series of doors. On each is inscribed a title of what you believe could be behind them. To the North, you see a door titled 'Dead End' to the West 'Exit' and to the East 'Laboratory'.". The Exit is a room. The Exit is west of the Hall. "You force open the door to reveal a set of stairs spiraling upwards." The Stairs is above the Exit. "Following the path, up, up, up, you find a small door painted gold with a large lock beneath the knob." The gold door is a closed locked door. The gold door is east of the stairs. Instead of doing something to the gold door: say "Turning the knob, you realize the door is locked. Attempting to look through the lock - you are able to see movement, but a feeling deep in your gut convinces you to stay silent and descend back down the stairs. Before you reach the bottom you are startled by a knock from the other side of the door. A lone, deafening knock. One that made your throat close and eyes well up. Somebody was on the other side of that door, but not someone you trust. In a panic you rush to the bottom of the stairs and silently pull the door shut behind you."; move player to the hall. The Laboratory is a room. The Laboratory is east of The Hall. Every turn while in the laboratory: if score is 0 begin; say "You push open the Laboratory door to reveal a small room with a window on the far side. The room is full of medical equipment, some you recognize (flasks, scalpels) others are made of rusted iron in shapes unfamiliar to you. These unknown objects look decades old but still have what appears to be dried blood covering them. You brush past these instruments and head toward the window. It is small and high above you. Standing on a stool you peer out of it. You can hardly see anything behind several layers of dust and dirt caked on the surface of the window. You see a crowbar on a table beside you and, without taking a moment to breathe, pick it up and swing it at the window. The glass shatters and dirt pours in. Confused, you step back. The window didn't lead to the outdoors. You know now that you are underground with no idea how to escape. You rush back through the door."; move player to the hall; award 15 points; end if. The Dead End is a room. The dead end is north of the hall. The prisoner is a person in the Dead End. A table, a chair, and a bed are in the Dead End. Every turn when the player can see the prisoner: say "The prisoner [one of]frantically[or]wildly[as decreasingly likely outcomes] whispers to himself while picking at [a random fixed in place thing which is in the dead end]." Instead of doing something to the prisoner: say "The prisoner notices you. A terrifying look washes over his face and in a panic he opens a door and ushers you through it."; move player to the maze. The Maze is a room. The Maze is north of the Dead End. "You are pushed down a long flight of stairs that descend to a dark hallway. North of you is a labyrinth. You hear the echo of the door above you slam shut and lock into place. You are forced to walk forward along the path." Every turn while in the maze: if score is 15 begin; say "Suddenly, the path steadily rises. In the distance sunlight streams in through a door's window. As you approach you see it has a large padlock holding it shut. Panicked, you fumble with the key you collected when you woke up and insert it into the padlock. The key turns, and the opened padlock falls to the floor. Shocked, you timidly open the door. Sunlight momentarily blinds you as you step outside. With a hand blocking the sun you start to see a path toward the treeline. Realizing you are safe, all of a sudden you break out into a run. The sudden movement catches the attention of the creature in the woods. As you run through the trees the creature quickly catches up to you. Before you realize it, you are being dragged back to where you came from."; end the game in death; end if.
