"The New Sheriff Part 1" Use no scoring. [Introduction] The Field is north of the Town. "[If field is unvisited][bold type]Welcome To The New Sheriff, Part 1:[roman type] The previous sheriff has left town and the people of the town have selected you to be the next sheriff. The only problem is you have never heard of this town before therefore you have no clue what you will have to do or what your job will include. The towns people have given you a challenge, first you must get familiar with the sounding area(Part 1) then you must catch the Two Hat Bandits(Part 2), if you fail on part 2 the towns people might think you are one of them and hang you! Good Luck! From your position the Town is to the [bold type]South[roman type], the Creek is to the [bold type]North[roman type], the Railroad is to the [bold type]East[roman type], and the Mine is to the [bold type]West." [The Field] The field is a room. In the field is a big wooden crate. In the crate is a hat, badge, and a belt. In the belt is a gun. The crate is a container. The belt is a container. The belt is wearable. The gun is in the belt. The gun is a thing. The hat is wearable. The badge is wearable. After taking hat: say "Wear on my head? [italic type]Type 'wear hat' to put hat on[roman type]." After wearing hat: say "That looks good." After taking badge: say "This is real! [italic type]Type 'wear badge' to put badge on[roman type]." After wearing badge: say "Now I look the Part[italic type] or like a target for every outlaw[roman type]." After taking belt: say "This may come in handy. Hopefully it fits. [italic type]Type 'wear belt' to put belt on[roman type]." After wearing belt: say "This belt is just the right size." After taking gun: say "Locked and loaded! [italic type]Type 'put gun in belt' to holster the gun[roman type][paragraph break]" Instead of taking big wooden crate: say "Much too big to pick up." The gun is a object. [Town] South of the field is the town. The Town is a room. "At the Town you see several apparently abandoned buildings. From your position the Field is to the [bold type]North[roman type]" The barrel is a container. The barrel is in the Town. The glass is a thing. The glass can be taken. The glass is in the barrel. The sign is a thing. The sign is in the Town. The sign can be read. Before examining the sign: say "'The Town of The South a short history:' The Town was founded in 1823 to be a haven for those who wanted gold and law. :) See told you it would be short." After examining the sign: say "Well that was not all that helpful. [italic type]However it was slightly interesting.[roman type][paragraph break]" After taking the glass: say "How odd for this to be sitting in an empty barrel." Before dropping the glass: say "Well I don't have much use for this. [italic type]You drop the glass on the ground.[roman type][paragraph break]" After dropping the glass: say "Wow, this thing is tough!" [Creek] North of the field is a creek. The creek is a room. "At the creek you find a campsite that has been abandoned. Upon closer inspection of the campsite you notice a coin. From your position the Field is to the [bold type]South[roman type]" The coin is a thing. The coin is in the creek. The coin can be taken. After taking coin: say "Interesting, looks like a tiny map has been etched into the back." [Railroad] East of the field is the railroad. The railroad is a room. "At the railroad you see a sign. On the sign are the words The First Grand Station. From your position the Field is to the [bold type]West[roman type] and the Train is to the [bold type]East[roman type]." East of the railroad is the train. The train is a room. [Train] The train is east of the railroad. "[If train is unvisited] You step in to the first passenger car and see two Men with guns in their hands walking to the locomotive with their backs toward you. From your position the Railroad is to the [bold type]West[roman type]." After taking gun when in train one time: say "You Yell, 'Drop the pistols and put your hands up!' They comply then turn to face you and you notice they have badges. Out of surprises you drop your gun(remember your new to this)(type 'drop gun')" After dropping gun when in train: say "You say, 'Sorry about that. I didn't know you were law enforcement.' You turn to leave but they say, 'Don't forget you gun!'" [Mine Entrance] West of the field is the Mine Entrance. The mine entrance is a room. North of the mine entrance is the Mineshaft. In the Mine Entrance is a faded sign. The faded sign can be read. Instead of examining the faded sign: say "Welcome to the Mine Entrance. This mine was discovered in 1820 and is the oldest simi-operational gold mine for 100 miles around. Free fun fact this mine is creatively called [italic type]Mine Entrance[roman type][paragraph break]" "From your position the Field is to the [bold type]East[roman type] and the Mineshaft is to the [bold type]North[roman type]." [Mineshaft] North of the Mine Entrance is the Mineshaft. The Mineshaft is a room. East of the mineshaft is the East Branch. In the mineshaft is a minecart. The minecart is a container. Rocks are in the minecart. The minecart can be pushed. In the minecart is TNT. The TNT is a thing. The Mineshaft is a room. "At the mineshaft you see obvious signs of mining activity namely the minecart full of rocks. From your position the Mine Entrance is to the [bold type]South[roman type] and the East Branch is to the [bold type]East[roman type]" Instead of taking rocks, say "There are too many and much too [bold type]heavy[roman type] to take with me." Instead of taking TNT, say "If I had a match this could get the rocks out the minecart, though it is more likely to [bold type]blow me to bits[roman type] so I'm going to leave it how it is." After pushing minecart: say "That was way too much work for nothing of use... well besides the workout." [East Branch] East of the Mineshaft is the East Branch. The East Branch is a room. "At the East branch you see an old man picking through the rubble from a recent blast. You try to get his attention, but it becomes evident his hearing isn't great. Glancing around you see nothing of use. From your position the Mineshaft [bold type]West[roman type]." [paragraph break]Before going west when in East Branch: say "The old man took notice of you and shouts, 'Did Ye need something Sheriff?' Nothing comes to mind you shrug and he says, 'suit yourself.' And he went back to work." Instead of taking gun when in East Branch, say "I don't want to hurt him."
