When play begins: say "You see an old house in the distance, it seems abandoned. It's a cold, dark, fall day as the dusk begins to fall. Although the house is abandoned, you feel a strange presence as you approach" The lawn is a room. "The lawn is freshly cut, as the sun beams down on the house, the shed is west". The shed is west of the lawn. The Shed is a room. "The shed is broken down, with rotten, splintered wood everywhere". The Lawn is east of the shed. The wood plank is an object in the shed. The description of the wood plank is "There is a rotting, rough oak plank next to the shed. It may have been a piece of the shed before it fell off." After taking wood plank, say "After picking up the plank, a forceful, whistling wind shakes the trees. The presence grows. You're becoming increasingly suspicious of this place." The backyard is a room. "The Backyard is filled with dried leaves and dead trees. You see a mossy patio with three plastics chairs facing the woods. You see a box on the middle chair." The Backyard is south of the lawn. The box is a container in the backyard. The key is an object inside the box. The description of the box is "The box is small but has a key inside and space to carry something. It is not locked." After taking box, say "It's not a good idea to move things around here, you feel a greater presence anytime you disturb them. Regardless, you now have a mysterious box" If box is dropped in the shed; say "You have unlocked the mystery of the house" and end the story.
