"The Investor" by Jack Sheehan The Foyer is a room. The description of the Foyer is "A large room. What was once a magnificent mansion foyer is now torn apart; tiles lay ripped up, the ceiling is crumbling, and the paint is peeling off of the walls. Something must have happened here..." The Dining Room is east of the Foyer. The description of the Dining Room is "Yet another destroyed room. A chandelier lays in shambles on the ground." There is a china cabinet in the Dining Room. The description of the china cabinet is "A cabinet full of small broken shards of sharp glass; don't cut yourself on it!" There is a book in the Dining Room. The description of the book is "An old book. It appears to be a cookbook. There is an bookmarked page titled 'Roasted Turkey Feast.'" There is a framed picture in the Dining Room. The description of the painting is "A photo of a stately looking man. The portrait is dated 1960." The Kitchen is north of the Foyer and north of the Dining Room. The description of the kitchen is "This was clearly at some point the greatest room in the house; all the windows are smashed, all the appliances are not functional, and the kitchen counter is in pieces on the floor." There is an oven in the Kitchen. The description of the oven is "An old oven - hardly even worth looking at. The bones of some long dead animal rest inside." The Living Room is west of the Foyer. The description of the living room is "Full of old couches and chairs. A busted TV set lays abandoned on the floor." There is an envelope in the Living Room. The description of the envelope is "Inside is a clearly aged letter addressed to a 'Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Smith.' The letter reads: 'I hope this letter finds you two well. I was recently made aware of your success in the stock market and wanted to congratulate you on your perfect timing! I have the greatest honor in saying I attended University with the most prestigious investor in all of Tennessee. My primary motivation for writing this letter is to ask you of a great favor. I was recently dealt the most unfortunate news: my mother has passed away. I realize, of course, that this is not something that should personally alarm you, however I beg of you to take pity on my financial inability to cover the costs associated with death. I write to ask you for money; specifically, $15,000 in order to pay for my mother's hospital costs. I would not request such a large favor if I was not in dire need of the charity. I thank you for any donation that you would be willing to pass on to me. Yours truly, James Heffernan'" The Writing Room is west of the Living Room. The description of the writing room is "A small, cramped spaced with large bookshelves (missing most of their books) and a large, splintered desk." There is a newspaper in the Writing Room. The description of the newspaper is "An old newspaper. The front page story reads: '3RD MILLIONAIRE KILLED THIS MONTH By Sammy McDonald Local police say that 67 year-old Allen Spooner is the third millionaire victim to be beaten mercilessly then shot in their home in a string of homicides believed to be related. Among the other victims are 34 year-old Boris Feldman and 30 year-old Jerry Summers. It is unclear yet what-' The paper is torn here and you cannot read any more of the story." There is a paper in the Writing Room. The description of the paper is "An old paper. It reads 'POLICE REPORT. NOV. 25. 1779' Investigating the murder of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Smith.
