A book can be read or unread. A book is usually unread. A spellbook is a kind of book. The indefinite article of a spellbook is "the". Table of Player Spells read from text with 10 blank rows. Unlockifying is an action applying to one visible thing. Understand "reserare [something]" as unlockifying. Check unlockifying (this is the can't cast unlockify in the library rule): if the location is the Library, say "The Library is protected against magic of all kinds. You cannot cast spells here." instead. Check unlockifying (this is the can't cast unlockify on unlockable things rule): if the noun is not lockable, say "You can't unlock something if you can't lock it in the first place!" instead. Openifying is an action applying to one visible thing. Understand "patentious [something]" as openifying. Section 2 - Reading It Understand the command "read" as something new. Reading it is an action applying to one thing. Understand "read [something]" as reading it. Check reading it (this is the can only read books rule): if the noun is not a book, say "This isn't a book! How do you expect to read it?" instead. Check reading it (this is the can't read books with no text rule): let the current book be the noun; unless there is a description corresponding to a book of the current book in the Table of Book Text, say "You open [the noun], but the pages inside are blank." instead. Carry out reading it: let the current book be the noun; say "You open [the noun] and begin to read:[line break][the description corresponding to a book of the current book in the Table of Book Text][line break]". if the current book is unread: choose a blank row in the Table of Player Spells; now the read from is the current book.
