The maximum score is 4. When play begins: say “Like every other day, you wake up. But something about this day is not like the rest. You rub your bleary eyes as you sit up, looking around. The sliver of light emanating from the entrance splits through the darkness of the bunk, and through the meager light, you can make out the vague silhouettes of your colleagues laying in their bunks. Quietly, you rise. You don’t bother to entertain the dress code before you are out the door, shutting it behind you. [paragraph break][bold type]Project Eclipse. [roman type]A top secret government initiative to capture and employ anomalies—deviations from both logical and empirical science—as nightmarishly destructive weapons. Currently, there are five known. Most people are completely unaware of this poison in the well of our reality, idiots in their tiny world with the curtains pulled over. They cry out about insidious death from changing climates and the oppressive threat of radioactive bombs dropping down upon their heads, but neither ought to constitute nearly as much concern. This is true peril. [paragraph break]Control of these anomalies is something a lone government should not, must not have. The more you think about it, the more you realise there is no other option. You will free them.” The Upper main hallway is a room. The description of the Upper main hallway is "White. Pure white. The hallway extends for a long while. To the north are the bunks, but you don't need to go there. You can choose to continue on to the south or head off to the east." Instead of going north in Upper main hallway: say "As much as you want to go back to bed, you have a mission to complete." The Exit corridor is a room. The description of the Exit corridor is "The further you walk down this hallway, the more you want to turn back. An itch, or a buzz, or some sort of unpleasant sensation gnaws at the back of your brain. It seems to intensify the longer you stay. Ahead is a door similar to an airlock. You really shouldn't go any further." The Exit corridor is east of the Upper main hallway and west of the Chamber door. The Exit chamber is a room. The Exit chamber is east of the Chamber door. The Chamber door is a closed, locked door. It is scenery. The Chamber door is east of the Exit corridor and west of the Exit chamber. The description of the Chamber door is "The threshold barring you from the outside. It is an imposing presence; pressing, appearing similar to an airlock." The Intersection is a room. The Research hallway is a room. The description of the Research hallway is "This passageway only leads to one door. As you stand facing north before the entrance to the Research Room, the white seems to creep inwards. Is it a trick of the light? Of the white? Who knows." The Research hallway is west of the Intersection. Instead of going west in Research hallway: say "The hallway ends there." The Eastbound hallway is a room. The description of the Eastbound hallway is "Here, it feels... ominous. The air itself seems to be holding its breath, like it knows something you don't. From the stretch of white, you can make out two doors. Faintly, inscribed on each are different symbols. To the north, '001' marks the first door in simple lettering. The southern door has a simple square engraving." The Eastbound hallway is east of the Intersection. Instead of going east in Eastbound hallway: say "The hallway ends there." The Lower main hallway is a room. The description of the Lower main hallway is "There is an unmistakable sense of danger here. One you've been exposed to many times already, but that you've never gotten used to. You can feel your flesh beginning to goose up as a tingling sensation vellicates at the base of your nape. You fight the urge to turn around, because there isn't anything there. There never is. [paragraph break]The near seamless outlines of three doors to the left are the only things you can make out save from the colourless fluorescence lighting. To the northwest, Cell 2; to the west, Cell 3; and to the southwest, the Supply Closet. North from here is the Intersection, and east is the Security hallway." The Lower main hallway is south of the Intersection. The Security hallway is a room. The description of the Security hallway is "The most unsettling of them all. The door to the north is the Security Room, the south is 004[']s cell. At the end of the corridor, east, is a door that is blank.[paragraph break]You had never been here before tonight. While there is no explicit rule barring you from wandering here, it is a tacit knowledge that any suspicious presence from employees around here results in swift, silent disappearances. Your coworkers had theorized that those missing became fodder or experiments of their own." The Security hallway is east of the Lower main hallway. Holding Cell 1 is a room. The description of Holding Cell 1 is “You step inside, and you feel pure. As if you have been cleansed of all your sins. The room is just as pristine, and when you gaze upon the entity in the centre, you understand why. You are in the presence of Experiment 001.” Holding Cell 1 is north of the Cell 1 door. Cell 1 door is a closed locked door. It is scenery. Cell 1 door is north of the Eastbound hallway and south of Holding Cell 1. Understand "001 door" as Cell 1 door. Instead of examining the Cell 1 door: say "A door; it opens up to Cell 1. From it emanates a feeling of sanctity. The only thing visible on its sleek surface is the perfectly printed '001'. It has no handle; an authorized keycard is required. [paragraph break]As you inspect the door, something stirs within your mind. The sensation is foreign, unnatural, like something has somehow managed to intrude on your psyche. When you listen closely, you recognize it is a whisper; insistent, albeit faint. It beckons you to enter. The sound of something frying can be heard, and the door slithers open."; now the Cell 1 door is unlocked. Does the player mean examining Cell 1 door when the player’s command includes "001": it is very likely. Experiment 001 is a person. Experiment 001 is in Holding Cell 1. Experiment 001 is scenery. Understand “001” and “Angel” and “The Angel” and “Experiment 1” as Experiment 001. Score-awarded is false. Instead of showing the sharp piece of metal to Experiment 001: if score-awarded of Experiment 001 is false: say “Despite your fears, you take out the sharp piece of metal and show it to 001. You’re not sure why you do it, knowing full well you’ve just put your life at risk. Surprisingly enough, that doesn’t happen. Instead, outside of your own will, you are beckoned closer to the being. Suddenly, you jerk forward, grabbing the angel and sawing away at its limbs. [paragraph break]Time seems to slip from your grasp as you are stuck in this frenzy. At first you fear the inevitable punishment that will come from its divine wrath. The deeper you carve into its flesh, however, the more it dawns upon you that it is the creature itself causing this.[paragraph break]Look at the angel. Look at what you have done.”; now Angel-harmed is true; now Post-attack-pause is true; rule succeeds; otherwise: say "The sharp metal has already served its purpose. " Before doing anything when Post-attack-pause is true: unless the current action is examining Experiment 001: say "Look at it."; stop the action. Instead of examining Experiment 001: if Angel-harmed is true: say “All of its limbs are gone. They lay bloodied on the ground in pools of gold, still girded by heavy cuffs and chains. What was once a glorious seraph is now a mutilated mess.[paragraph break]However, you know something like this is not nearly enough to kill it. Soon enough, it will rebirth its extremities and take flight. It is finally free.”; increase the score by 1; now score-awarded of Experiment 001 is true; now Post-attack-pause is false; otherwise: say "An angel, or the closest thing to one. It is effable in the way that it is beautiful, something bordering the far corners of human comprehension. From its back sprouts grand wings, and shimmering above its head is a delicate ring of light. Everything about it is just as pale and unsullied as the environment that surrounds it—no filth would be acceptable in its presence. Encircling its wrists and ankles are shackles, bulky and out of place next to the being.[paragraph break]For as ethereal the angel is, you remain cautious in its presence. It is best to ensure you make no misstep, as the creature is judge, jury, and executioner to any who fall out of the narrow line of its moral code." Before doing anything when Post-attack-pause is true: follow the pause blocking rules. Instead of talking to Experiment 001: if Angel-harmed is true: say “What is there to say? The angel has been freed. You have done your job.”; otherwise: say "You open your mouth to say something, yet you can’t seem to get a word out. 001 does not speak either. It is silent, with the exception of the nearly imperceptible murmurs swirling around the room. However, you get the distinct sense it is observing you. Judging you. [paragraph break]Perhaps you should just focus on freeing it." The Storage Room is a room. The description of the Storage Room is “You walk into the familiar space of the Storage Room. This is where you spent most of your time, either sorting supplies, keeping stock of inventory, or fetching whatever foods or trinkets the Experiments requested. The place is a mini warehouse, with rows of shelves placed in perfect parallel order. Cardboard boxes, plastic containers, and various buckets line the racks among other miscellaneous items. Clearly, it doesn’t match the level of organization the rest of the facility holds standard.” The Storage Room is south of the Square door. Square door is a closed door. It is scenery. It's been like this for a long time. On impulse, you latch onto the metal and snap it off. Who knows when it could come in handy."; The Research Room is a room. The description of the Research Room is “Where the devil comes out to play. The place looks like something straight out of science fiction—large liquid filled pods hooked up to tubes, expansive screens with complex control panels, and an abundance of laboratory equipment. You’re not sure of the true extent of what goes on within these walls, and you don’t wish to know.” The Research Room is north of the Research Room door. Research Room door is a closed locked door. It is scenery. Research Room door is north of the Research hallway and south of the Research Room. The description of Research Room door is "It leads to the Research Room. You’ve been here many times." Understand "flask door" and “Research door” and “Research Room” as Research Room door. The Security Room is a room. The description of the Security Room is “The first thing you notice when you step foot inside is a fundamental shift in the environment. The laboratory you’ve become accustomed to is one of white walls, perfect order, and painfully bright lights that do no favours for your late night headaches. On the contrary, the Security Room is dark, and… for the lack of a better word, slovenly. [paragraph break]Few areas are free of meaningless clutter in the form of numerous filing cabinets, scattered binders with loose papers strewn about, and many electronic devices you don’t know the names of. You reach the conclusion that the Storage Room is comparatively tame in its slight untidiness. Illuminating the room is a gallery of TV after TV, mounted on the back wall and showcasing live surveillance footage.” The Security Room is north of the Security Room door. Security Room door is a closed locked door. It is scenery. Security Room door is north of the Security hallway and south of the Security Room. The description of Security Room door is "You can assume this leads into the Security Room. The eye etched onto the surface alludes to that. Scientist’s Office door is a closed locked door. It is scenery. Scientist’s Office door is east of the Security hallway and west of the Scientist’s Office. The description of Scientist’s Office door is "Curiosity bubbles up inside of you as you gaze at the door. You’ve always gotten along with him, but he’ll have to forgive you for doing this.” Understand “Izaiahs ID” or "Izaiahs keycard" or "Izaiah's key card" or "Izaiahs card" or "Izaiah's card" as Izaiah’s ID.
