"Journey of Osiris" by Rashid Osman When play begins: say "You are Osiris, the self proclaimed king of Egypt and Lord of the Earth, with Isis as your queen. You are of the first five gods born, Osiris, Isis, Set, Nephthys, Horus. You have turned Egypt into a paradise since your rule, through laws, agriculture, culture, and religion. This is a tale of the Heroic Journey and the first stage, The Ordinary World.[line break][line break] You have just received a call from one of your servants outside in the lobby to your north. To move, type in directions such as Go North." The Palace is a room. "You are in your palace. To the north you can see your lobby. To the West, East, South are areas under development in your palace." North of Palace is lobby. Lobby is a room. "You have reached your lobby, and have a better view of your servant." The servant is a person in the lobby. "Servant: Lord Osiris, I have news for you. The god, Set, has prepared a wonderful party nearby and has invited you. The party is hosted in the Gathering Area east from here. I will now head back. Please go east when you can. This is your [bold type]Call to Adventure[bold type]." The Gathering Area is a room. "You have entered a grand party, surrounded by numerous guests. You notice your brother, Set, in the center leading conversation." The Gathering Area is east from the lobby. Set is a person in The Gathering Area. "Set shouts: Everyone, I have prepared a beautiful coffin to the lucky guest who can fit in this box most perfectly. It will be a gift to that individual." The Coffin is an object. The Coffin is in the Gathering Area. "The coffin is waiting for you to try it. You can open the coffin to try your luck. It appears out of all the guests, you are the only one who can fit in the coffin. This is your [bold type]Refusal of the Call[bold type]." The Coffin is a closed openable container. The Coffin is fixed in place Instead of telling Set about something: say "He waits and listens, then goes back to work, paying no mind to what you just said." Instead of asking Set about something: say "How about you just try your luck in the Coffin?" After opening the coffin: say "Upon opening the coffin, you notice that you fit perfectly into the coffin, as if it was made for you. This is accepting the call.[line break][line break]Suddenly you realize the trap you have fell into. Dark magic that Set prepared lures you into the coffin and traps you inside. This is Supernatural Help. [line break][line break]You feel the coffin being lifted up and transported somewhere. You are Entering the Unknown. [line break][line break]After a long while you are thrown into what it feels like to be - a body of water, which can only be the Nile. This is Crossing the Threshold. [line break] [line break]You try your hardest to exit the coffin with no luck. Osiris is doomed at sea. This continued for many days until one day, the coffin landed on an island shore stuck in a tree. The tree grew over time and surrounded the coffin. One day a king of Byblos by the name of Malcander stumbled across the tree. Not noticing the coffin, he ordered his servants to cut down the tree to bring into his palace as decoration. Osiris is sadly trapped with no actions to take, and was cut up by the servants, leading to his death. This is Entering the Belly of the Whale.
