[Rules] The carrying capacity of the player is 11. Understand the command "kill" as something new. Killing is an action applying to one thing. Understand "kill [something]" and "murder [something]" and "beat [something]"as killing. Check killing: say "Why would you do that?" Instead of killing Viktor: if the player carries the dagger: say "You have slain Viktor. Viktor’s body lays awkwardly. He is so pale that in the dim room, he almost looks like a ghost, and he is freezing cold to the touch. You think you see something in Viktor’s pocket, you think you should check what it is."; remove viktor from play.; move viktor's corpse to Trap Room.; otherwise: say "You realize Viktor is armored. The attack is completely mitigated. He grows angry and chases you away."; Instead of killing Serpinski: if the player carries the royal bow: say "You have slain Serpinski. Serpinski's iron clad body lies on the door. He has dropped his shield after death. You believe it is a good idea to take the shield to prepare for any surprises in the room across from you."; remove Serpinski from play.; move Serpinski's corpse to Hallway.; otherwise: say "Your attack was blocked by his shield."; Instead of killing Banana King Matthew: if the player carries the Kingslayer sword: say "You finally ended your quest. Banana King Matthew lies dead upon the floor, struck down by your sword. You have triumphed. You have freed the kingdom from his tyranny. You decide it is a good idea to retrieve his crown."; remove Banana King Matthew from play.; move Banana King Matthew's corpse to Throne Room.; otherwise: say "That weapon is ineffective..."; Check going to the Hallway: if player does not carry the lantern: say "You walked blindly into a Guard. The guard has murdered you in cold blood. As your eyes close, the last you see is the Guard bending down dice you. Your dismantled corpse is left rotting on the bloodstained cobblestones of the Hallway."; end the game in death instead. Check going to the Trap Room: if player does not carry the lantern: say "You walked blindly into a spike pit. You die in agony and your corpse is left impaled on the spikes."; end the game in death instead. Check going to the Throne Room: if player does not carry Shield: say "You were shot by traps the instant you opened the door. You had no chance of surviving without a shield. As your consciousness fades away from this world, your heart fills with regret as you did not keep the shield. You die realizing the countless lives that will be ruined by the King."; end the game in death instead. [Starting area; Bananaland] There is a table, parchment, lantern and rusty key and dagger in Bananaland. The description of the lantern is "This lantern magically glows, illuminating your surroundings. You probably want to keep this in case of hidden dangers." The description of the dagger is "A small but effective weapon. This should do against weaker enemies." The description of the table is "A tough and sturdy table. Seems useless in an adventure to take down a king." The description of the rusty key is "Where will this lead? Could be a trap, could be a secret, who knows!" Bananaland is a room. "You are in Bananaland. There is a table, here. There is a dagger, lantern and a parchment on the table. You see a peculiar looking building to your south and a house to your north." The description of the parchment is "You are in Bananaland. You have been living here for all your life. You realize you are special, as everyone around you are bananas, yet you are the sole human around. You have many great friends, all bananas, all edible. But not all bananas are the same. The Banana King Matthew has been mistreating you for your entire life, from you being a child to being an adult now. You have recently heard rumours about his plan to wage war against humans, and that means you are in danger in Bananaland. Bidding farewell to your Banana friends, you set out on a journey to vanquish the Banana King. " [DOORS] [The Gold Door] The Gold Door is a closed locked, door. The Gold Door is east of Basement. The gold key unlocks the gold door. The description of the Gold Door is "This door, despite being made of gold, can withstand quite a beating." [The Diamond Door] The Diamond Door is a closed locked, door. The Diamond Door is west of the Throne Room. The Diamond Door is east of the Hallway. The Skull Key unlocks the Diamond Door. The description of the Diamond Door is "This door is the last line of defense to the Throne Room. It is impossible to break this door." [ROOMS] [House] House is a room. "You are in a house. This is one of the most cramped spaces you’ve been in, with the ceiling being very low. The wallpaper is already peeling off, and it’s clear that this home hasn’t been maintained properly, or it is just extremely old... You notice a rickety staircase leading down." The House is north of Bananaland. There is a painting, couch, and rug in House. The description of the painting is "You admire this painting until you see the 'No Cash Value' sticker at the bottom right corner." The description of the couch is "This couch looks beaten down. Whoever last sat on this couch must've been really fat. I'm serious." The description of the rug is "The rug is worn and torn from years of abuse. Luckily, it was a dollar store rug." [Basement] Basement is a room. Basement is below House. "You are in the basement of the house. This room, for once, doesn’t really smell like much, apart from a slight scent of oil, a refreshing break from the natural smell of bananas. This room also feels quite cold, and you wonder if it has any insulation at all. On further inspection, you notice a gold door to the east." There is a steel table, safe and trophy case in Basement. The safe is locked and openable. The rusty key unlocks the safe. The box is in the safe. The trophy case is an openable container. The gold key is in the trophy case. The box is an openable container. The scroll is in the box. The description of the scroll is "You got pranked!" The description of the steel table is "You can pick it up but there's nobody here to witness you flex your strength." The description of the safe is "This safe looks as old as the house. The lock is rusty and the key is missing." The description of the trophy case is "This dusty trophy case is actually in good condition, with the exception of the dust. The content inside is well preserved." The description of the gold key is "Gold Door, Gold Key. Who would've thought..." [Storage Room for Corpses] Storage is a room. Serpinski's corpse is a container in storage. The description is "Also just a dead body, nothing special." The Shield is a thing in Serpinski's corpse. The description is "Serpinski's shield seems to be just as new as it was first forged. It gleams, even though there isn't much of a light source." Viktor's corpse is a container in storage. The description is "Nothing special, just a dead body" The Skull key is a thing in Viktor's corpse. The description is "This is the rumoured key to open the way to the impenetrable King's room. " Banana King Matthew's corpse is a container in storage. The description is "After eons, the oppressive Banana King has finally been slain. You decide to retrieve the crown and return to the village." The Crown is a thing in Banana King Matthew's corpse. The description is "This jeweled crown, aged yet elegant, is finally out of the hands of Banana King Matthew after decades of dark times." [Hallway] Hallway is a room. Hallway is east of gold door. "Ahead of you lies the The Throne Room. Serpinski the Royal Guard blocks your way. There are two lanterns attached to the walls. The corridor is dim and there seems to be some stains on the wall. The area is creepy and gives you a sense of foreboding." There are two lanterns fixed in place. [Throne Room] The Throne Room is a room. The Throne Room is east of the Diamond Door. "Your Shield that you just looted blocked three swift arrows from a trap. The Throne Room is truly a room fit for a king. The painters of the room went with a very light green, that really differentiates this room from the others, and so does the size. Compared to the house, it may be eight to ten times the width and twice the height." [Forest] Forest is a room. Forest is east of Bananaland. "You are surrounded by thick forest, the only thing you can see in the distance is Bananaland to your West. This part of the kingdom feels very humid and hot, you want to seek shelter to get away from the sweltering heat. The skies look clear as well, with no indication that it will rain in a while, and the sun beats down on you. There is a shiny object hidden in the trees above you." [Canopy] Canopy is a room. Canopy is above Forest. "You can see Bananaland in the distance but apart from that, there's only trees, trees and more trees." The Kingslayer Sword is in Canopy. The description of the Kingslayer Sword is "This legendary weapon, forged in a bygone era, is rumored to have the capability to slay the almighty Banana King!" [Shed] Shed is a room. Shed is west of House. "It seems like no one has been to this shed in a while. There are some abandoned tools here, but only the shovel still looks sturdy. Spiders and other insects have made this place their home." There is a shovel, a spider, spider webs, and a dusty note in the shed. The description of the dusty note is "There is an important weapon required to slay the king. The Banana King believes himself unkillable without this weapon. He hid it in the remote forest east of Bananaland. Good luck." The description of the shovel is "Sturdy tool. Somehow lasted this long yet still in good condition." The description of the spider is "Why is this thing Green?" The description of the spider webs is "This spider web has accumulated a lot of dust. Some parts of the web is completely destroyed." [Trap room] Trap room is a room. Trap room is north of House. "There is a spike pit right in front of you. Who knows what would've happened if you didn't have the lantern. There is nothing in here other than some cobwebs and the faint smell of blood." [Antique Room] Antique Room is a room. Antique Room is south of Bananaland. "You have stumbled upon a dusty room. On closer inspection, you see that in the room there are many artifacts that seem to have been resting here for a long time. You dust them off and reveal an old watch, an old note, a rusty trophy, and a suitcase. The note seems to have some sort of message written on it..." There is an royal bow, old note, an old watch, a rusty trophy and a suitcase in Antique Room. The description of the old note is "Come to the village south of the shed and west of Bananaland for important information." The description of the royal bow is "This bow shoots magical arrows that appear out of thin air." The description of the old watch is "This watch looks like an antique, but sadly, it has stopped working." The description of the rusty trophy is "Definitely a sample. C'mon, it's literally rusty." The description of the suitcase is "This suitcase has not been used for decades. Who knows what kind of creature made it's nest in there." [Village] Check going to the Village: if player carries the old note: say "John's expression changes to a serious one and says 'Ahhhh... I see. You're not just a traveler passing by. You have the note. I am busy right now. Go meet my assistant, Henry, in the hideout to the west.'"; Village is a room. Village is west of Bananaland. Village is south of shed. "You are in a remote village obscured from the rest of the land. Only you and it's residents know about this village. The only things in sight is a couple wood homes and some cattle." [Hideout] Hideout is a room. Hideout is west of the Village. "You notice that the area the hideout is in is very low into the ground, allowing the tall grass to cover the entrance. There is nothing in here. It appears to be a secret area for meetings and conversations...” Check going to the Hideout: if player carries the old note: say "'Henry looks at you and says 'John sent you here huh. Alright, I'll give you your first step to defeating the banana king. There are rumours that there is a guard named Viktor in the Trap Room, north of the House, who has the key to the Throne Room. But beware! You probably want to take some sort of lantern while exploring as it is very dangerous in there. Furthermore, I believe there is a note left behind by an explorer located in the shed north of the village that you need to get an important weapon. I wish you the best of luck, and hope you succeed for the sake of all of us. Now GO! May be gods be with you.'"; [NPCS] Viktor is a person in the Trap room. Viktor can be killed by the dagger. Every turn when the player can see Viktor: say "Viktor the killer paces confidently around the room. Viktor carries a stinger." Serpinski is a person in the hallway. Serpinski can be killed by the royal bow. Every turn when the player can see Serpinski: say "Serpinski blocks your path, unyielding and immovable. He glares at you through the slits of his helmet. He carries a massive gleaming shield." John is a person in the Village. The description of John is "John looks like the typical old farmer dude." Henry is a person in the Hideout. "Henry is excited to see another adventurer try to take on the king." Banana King Matthew is a person in the Throne Room. Every turn when the player can see Banana King Matthew: say "The massive throne sits in the center of the room, with the Banana King Matthew staring straight at you." [Win Condition] After taking the crown: say "You have taken back the crown."; award 100 points. Every turn while in the Village: if score is 100 begin; say "The Banana King Matthew has fallen. Bananaland has been freed of his tyranny and is once again a nation of opportunity. All the citizens rejoice, and look to you for guidance on their uncertain future. You decide to take it upon yourself to try and improve this strange and magical place. 30 years later, you abdicate your crown to your banana daughter, and look back on your achievements. You have instilled a utopian society where the abundance of food has been put to use, and the economy flourish and with it, the people. You will forever be remembered as the ‘Great Monarch’ which touched the lives of many."; end the game in victory; end if.
