"The Abandoned Laboratory" by Thomas, Chengfu and Ali. The Laboratory is a room. "What is this place? Where am I? It looks like a modern laboratory. There are electronic devices, tables with drawers, and potions on the tables, beside the potions there are computers and some microscopes. Huh? A huge freezer in a laboratory? That's crazy. There seems to be doors to the west and north. " The laboratory is east of the meeting room and south of the cafe. The Mixing workbench is a fixed in place thing in the laboratory. The description of the mixing workbench is "The mixing workbench is organized, there are tubes with some unknown liquid in it. There are computers on the table with a microscope. Also a drawer at the bottom of the table. ". The laboratory door is a closed door. The laboratory door is northwest of the laboratory. The laboratory door is northwest of the laboratory. The Drawer is part of the mixing workbench. The Drawer is an openable container. It contains paperwork. The description of the paperwork is "A list of the blood works of staff in the place? Which weirdo would do this? " Instead of eating the plants: say "I don't think it's a great idea to eat it." The Freezer is in the Laboratory. The freezer is fixed in place. The freezer is closed. The Freezer is an openable container. It contains blood tubes, liquids, plants, chemicals, and vaccines. The description of the blood tubes is "There are many of them. There should be a reason they are keeping these blood tubes. The information might be in the paperwork." The description of the liquids is "Unknown..." The description of the plants is "They are all different from each other. It doesn't look a like regular plant." The description of the chemicals is "They have safety signs but some of them are protected better than others. Probably they are more dangerous. All of them have names such as Botulinum Toxin and chloramine. It should be in the paperwork" Instead of opening the Drawer: say "You open the drawer and find some paper works inside." The Cafe is north of the laboratory, west of the Garden, and east of the washroom. There is a microwave, you can see something inside the microwave. To the west is a glass door which leads to the Garden. The Cafe is north of the laboratory, west of the Garden, and east of the washroom." The microwave is an openable container. The Research Lab is a room. The Research Lab is north of Cafe. The description of the Research Lab is "You enter a dimly lit research lab. It looks unused how weird. Immediately as you enter you smell a putrid smell.". Every turn while the player is in the Research Lab: say "You see some fans spinning. The darkness send chills up your spine. The floor creaking after each step does not help. You see some test tubes. " The test tube is an object. The test tubes are in the Research Lab. Instead examining test tubes: say "The putrid smell infiltrates your nostrils as you hear the floor under you start creaking and dipping downward."; End the game in death. After going from the Research Lab: say "The stairs underneath you start collapsing, you fall down and landed on your head. You hear your skull crack wide open, killing you instantly."; End the game in death. The Meeting Room is a room. "Wow, this place is huge. There is a huge smart board on the wall. A large wooden table with office chairs beside it is in the center of the room. Sheets are spread across the table along with some fancy pens. Lastly, there is a door that leads to the lounge." The meeting room is west of the laboratory and south of the washroom. The 'Lounge Door' is a closed door. The 'Lounge Door' is south of the Meeting Room and north of the lounge. The description is "A door that leads to the lounge. You are unsure of which direction the door is in." Understand "Lounge Door" as 'Lounge door'. Instead of going through the 'Lounge Door': say "You leave the meeting room and enter the lounge."; move player to the lounge. The smart board is a fixed in place thing in the Meeting Room. The description is "A large smart board displaying intricate diagrams and graphs." The table is a supporter in the Meeting Room. The description is "A sturdy wooden table with neatly arranged sheets and fancy pens." The chairs are plural-named in the Meeting Room. The description is "Comfortable office chairs placed around the table." Instead of examining the smart board: say "The smart board displays complex scientific data and charts." Instead of examining the table: say "The table is well-organized with various documents and pens." The Lounge is a room. The Lounge is south of the Lounge Door. The description of the Lounge is “As you step through the clearing, you can barely view a posh Lounge. Squinting through the darkness, you can see Ornate pictures of the current British monarch line one side of the room. Additionally, there are also several plush chairs and coffee tables. A you glance at the east wall, you notice a small crawlspace barely able to fit a human.” Some furniture are scenery in the Lounge. Understand "Plush chairs" and "coffee tables" as furniture. The description is "The furniture is ordinary and not very interesting." Instead of doing anything other than examining the furniture: say "You have more urgent things to do than fiddling with the furniture." Some pictures of British monarchs are in the Lounge. The description is "What a fancy outfit King George VI is wearing. Something feels a little strange about this photograph." Understand "pictures","King George VI", "pictures of King George VI", and "British monarchs" as the pictures of British monarchs. The indefinite article of the pictures is "some". Instead of taking the pictures of British monarchs: say "[The noun] [if the noun is plural-named]are[otherwise]is[end if] too delicate and musty for you to carry. AHHH CHEEWWWWWW." Instead of taking the pictures of British Monarchs: say "As you attempt to wrap your arms along the multiple pictures. You realize King George VI is staring at you multiple times. Even if he is not actually siting beside you, the intimidation is enough and you decide not to take the pictures of the British Monarchs." Instead of examining the pictures British monarchs: if the player has the flashlight then say "An iodized key seems to shimmer beautifully back at your body; illuminating your hands and clothing."; otherwise say "What a fancy outfit King George VI is wearing. Something feels a little strange about this photograph. Maybe come back when you have more light." Every turn while in the lounge: if the player has the flashlight: move the iodized key to the lounge. The iodized key is an object. The iodized key is on the pictures of King George VI. The description of the iodized key is "Black and almost non existent, like your chances of escaping, this key looks promising." Instead of smelling the iodized key: say "As you lift the iodized key to your nostrils, you think about how weird this would look on the security cameras. Thinking about your decision again, you place the iodized key back into your pocket." Instead of taking the iodized key when the player does not have the flashlight: say "You can hear it clinking around but you cannot see the iodized key. In fact you can barely see the furniture around you." Instead of examining the iodized key when the player does not have the flashlight: say "It is impossible to examine the key finding it first." The Storage room is a room. The storage room is east of the lounge. "Dust cakes the air and sticks to the back of your throat as you crawl into a storage room. Immediately you see a book and a desk. You find it weird how can you see now until you look down. As you look down, you shriek in terror as you view a purple pulsating circle!!! Gathering your courage, you observe that it is hooked up to a light switch.". The purple pulsating circle is a fixed in place device in the storage room. The description of the purple pulsating circle is "An ominous aura surrounds this orb. Somehow it seems to have a light switch attached that flicked off." Understand "teleporter", "purple circle", "purple glowing circle", and "light switch" as the purple pulsating circle. Instead of switching on the purple pulsating circle: say "WHIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR...Fog appears and you as you are transported to a new environment."; move player to the arcade. Instead of climbing the purple pulsating circle: say "Jumping on the purple orb doesn't do anything. Weird....Maybe this switch beside the teleporter will help." The history book is an object in the storage room. Understand "ancient book", and "odd book" as the history book. Instead of examining the book: say "An ancient book of history what an odd book to place in a STEM oriented workplace. You notice there is a tab sticking into the book."; move paper tab to storage room. Instead of burning the history book: say "Unfortunately you have no matches and no resources to burn the book no matter how much you hate history." The steel key is an object. The description of the steel key is "Even though it is made out of steel, it looks like it could fit into every lock in this complex!!" Instead of eating the steel key: say "While the steel key could probably be used to cut playdough, it does not seem that fun to eat." The paper tab is an object. The description of the paper tab is "Part of the paper tab is inside the book and part of it is outside. It is weirdly rigid.". Instead of examining the paper tab: say "It seems to be made of an ordinary material." Instead of taking the paper tab: say "You yank on the tab pulling it cleanly out of the history book. Attached to the neon blue tab is a steel key!"; move the steel key to the storage room. Instead of eating the paper tab: say "You nibble part of the paper tab but, immediately get a paper cut! This unfortunate event causes you to stop eating the paper tab." The Washroom is a room. "Why is this place so dirty? Disgusting. Are those BUGS? I wonder when was the last time they cleaned this place. It looks like it's been abandoned for a while that's why they don't clean it. It makes sense now. " The soap dispenser is here. The description of the soap dispenser is "A fancy-looking dispenser with sharp-smelling soap." The dirty tissues are here. The description of the dirty tissues is "Cheap brown tissues that can easily rip. They're scattered on the floor." The dirty sink is here. The description of the dirty sink is "Covered in grime and surrounded by used tissues." The trashcan is here. The description of the trashcan is "Full of dirty tissues and smells so bad." The trashcan is fixed in place. Instead of examining the soap dispenser: say "The dispenser looks fancy, but it's funny how such a nice thing is in such a dirty washroom."; Instead of examining the dirty tissues: say "Brown tissues, cheap and torn, litter the floor, showing how much this place has been ignored."; Instead of examining the trashcan: say "The trashcan is overflowing with dirty tissues, emitting a repugnant odor. It desperately needs to be emptied and cleaned."; Instead of examining the dirty sink: say "The sink is covered in grime and surrounded by used tissues. It's a sorry sight, highlighting the lack of cleanliness in this washroom.". The Courtyard is a room. The description of the courtyard is "The fall breeze blows thousands of leaves towards you. As you sneeze through seasonal allergies, you notice there an unnaturally large apple tree. To the south there is an entrance to the arcade and to the north there is the Garden.". The courtyard is south of the Garden. Some leaves are scenery in the courtyard. The description is "The leaves come in multiple colors. When the weather seems to be shifting into winter, this makes sense." Instead of doing anything other than examining the leaves: say "You can find leaves anywhere so why play with them here?" The apple tree is scenery in the courtyard. The description is "Such a tall tree in such a poisonous environment...Must have been another lab experiment. You see a glint of a key but it's too high up and covered by leaves." Instead of examining the apple tree when the player has the flashlight: say " [one of]Such a tall tree in such a poisonous environment...Must have been another lab experiment. You spot a glittering key above in the branches. It seems a little high.[or] OOP...Accidentally you drop the glittering key and it clinks to the floor with a spark of disgust. The tree ,however, looks like it must have been another lab experiment.[stopping]"; move glittering key to the courtyard. Instead of examining the apple tree when the player has the glittering key: say "Such a tall tree in such a poisonous environment...Must have been another lab experiment.". Understand "branches", "unnaturally large apple tree", "unnaturally large tree", "branch", and "tree" as the apple tree. Instead of climbing the apple tree when the player does not have the flashlight: say "A collection of dark ravens swoop down out of nowhere and start pecking on your arms!! You fall off the trees and shoo away the birds. Darn it so close yet so far!! If only there was something to scare them away." The glittering key is an object. Understand "key" and "glittering key" as the glittering key. The description of the glittering key is "A beautiful yet ancient design.....HMMM it could be useful later..." Instead of burning the glittering key: say "The key looks too precious to be burned. Perhaps you could burn a different key." Instead of taking the glittering key when the player does not have the flashlight: say "A collection of dark ravens swoop down out of nowhere and start pecking on your arms as you climb the tree!! You fall off the trees and shoo away the birds. Darn it so close yet so far! If only there was something to scare the birds away..." Instead of climbing the tree when the player has the flashlight: say "With the slightest movement of your flashlight, birds fly away from the branches. As they fly away, they knock a glittering key onto the floor and you climb down immediately after it." The Arcade is a room. "A pinball machine lies in the middle of the room. Beside the pinball lies two separate closed treasure chests. The first treasure chest has 'I' in roman numerals splattered across it and the second has 'II' in roman numerals. You see a clearing to the north where light peaks through." The purple gate is a closed openable scenery door. The purple gate is south of the courtyard and north of the arcade. The purple gate is closed and openable. The description of the purple gate is "why would anyone make a gate in such a beautiful courtyard.". The pinball machine is fixed in place scenery in the arcade. The description of the pinball machine is "Solve the following problem and gain a clue. Either this will lead to your victory or your doom! Don't forget your algebra or suffer in pain as your attempts will be in vain!! What is C if C + 1 = 5C - 3. Who knows? The answer could be a clue towards which treasure chest to choose." The treasure chest #1 is a closed and openable container in the arcade. The description of the treasure chest #1 is " 'I' is written sloppily upon the chest in bold letters. Why bold...Why bold?. You should probably look around more before opening this up." Understand "I", "treasure chest 1", "I treasure chest", "treasure chest one", "treasure chest number 1", "first chest", and "I treasure" as treasure chest #1. Instead of taking treasure chest #1: say "The weight of the chest is too much for your arms. It collapses as you drop it but does not spill any of the secrets it contains." The flashlight is a object. The description of the flashlight is "A bright white dome of light shines from the flashlight." Understand "jet black flashlight" as flashlight. Instead of eating the flashlight: say "The cobwebs attached to the flashlight look nasty. One look deters you away from attempting to eat your flashlight." Instead of opening treasure chest #1 when the flashlight is off-stage: say "You have found a jet black flashlight. EWWWWWW... There is even spiderwebs attached. Luckily for you it still works ,despite it's appearance, and could potentially be used to illuminate your final steps of your journey."; move flashlight to the arcade. The treasure chest #2 is a closed and openable container in the arcade. The description of the treasure chest #2 is "'II' is written neatly upon the top of the chest in neon green handwriting. What an interesting color choice. You should probably look around more before opening this up." Understand "II", "treasure chest 2", "treasure chest two", "treasure chest II", "treasure chest number 2", "second chest", and "II treasure" as the treasure chest #2. Instead of eating the treasure chest #2: say "As you sniff the chest, the mere smell of rotting wood makes you want to pass out." Instead of opening treasure chest #2: say "Immediately after opening the chest number two with excitement, green noxious smoke fills the room. The smoke fills your lungs and paralyzes you in place. Unfortunately your math or luck was wrong and now you pay the price."; end the game in death. Glass door is a door. Glass door is east of Cafe. Glass door is closed. The description of the Glass door is "A dusty sliding glass door that hasn't been touched in a while. This place really needs a janitor." Instead of opening the Glass door: say "The dust trickle and drifts down onto your hand. You shake it off in disgust. You're allergic damn it!"; now the Glass door is open. The Garden is a room. Garden is east of the Glass door. "You find yourself in a beautiful lush green Garden. The trees sway side to side to celebrate your victory. You are north of the Courtyard, South of the Shed door, west of the intersection, and east of the cafe." The bench is a thing in Garden. Instead of examining the bench: say "You sit on the bench, the hardwood supporting you. You knock on the wood a few times to test its quality. Now's not the time to be resting; you stand up, feeling much more refreshed. You see the Shed's Door, [if barricade is closed] A Barricade to the East, [otherwise] a parking lot to the east. " picnic table is in Garden. Instead of examining picnic table: say "As you move towards the picnic table, the squirrels see you and run away, carrying the sandwich with them. Their tiny legs running like Jerry running away from Tom. Except you're Tom. You feel bad and you walk away from the picnic table. As you walk away you see the squirrels come back to their lunch, their teeth shredding through the Sandwich . You feel their menacing presence laughing at you for not having lunch yet.". Swaying Tree is an object. It is in Garden. Instead of examining the Swaying Tree: say "The swaying orange and yellow tree welcomes you. You put your forehead to the tree, hoping that it would give you peace, health and wellbeing." The Shed's Door is a door. Shed's Door is north of the Garden. It is closed and locked. The description of Shed's Door is "Plastic in the shape of wood." Instead of examining the Shed's Door when the player does not have Shed's Key: say "You can feel the heat radiating from the Shed through the Shed door. The difference in temperature between your back and your face is like the difference between day and night. Quite literally." Instead of unlocking the Shed's Door with the Shed's Key: if the Shed's Door is locked: say "You insert the key into the lock and turn it. The Shed's Door is now unlocked."; now the Shed's Door is unlocked; now the Shed's Door is Open; The Shed is a room. Shed is north of the Shed's Door. "The shed's heat makes you cringe. The shed feels like another world, hot, sweaty, and sticky. You rate the shed 2 stars out of 5. Sweat dripping down like a hot shower, you squint your eyes to not irritate your already stinging eyes. The pain is unbearable. You see an old used rusty orange hammer and an empty paint bucket." The hammer is an object. It is in Shed. The description of the hammer is "The wooden handle fits comfortably in your hands.". The paint bucket is an object in the Shed. Instead of examining the paint bucket: say "An empty white paint bucket with a blanket of dried up purple paint on its side. You peel some dry paint off the sides. You got your daily dose of dopamine.". Instead of eating the paint bucket: say "The paint tastes like paper. I guess you had your low calorie dinner. Now the paint bucket has a dent from you biting on it. Gross." The barricade is a closed and locked door. It is east of the Garden. It is closed and locked. The hammer unlocks the barricade. Instead of examining barricade when player has hammer: say "Boom boom kalunk. The barricade falls apart and crushes your toes."; now the barricade is unlocked; now the barricade is open. Instead of closing barricade: say "Well the barricade is blocking your way again. You look stupid you know that right?". The parking lot is a room. "The cool breeze unlocks something inside of you, a burning flame. A spark that finally turned into a flame. The empty rows of yellow lines make you feel satisfied. No one knows you escaped - if someone even cares. The autumn leaves ski over the hard cement ground. You see and iron gate standing in your way (East).". It is east of barricade. The iron gate is a closed an locked door. It is east of the parking lot. It is closed and locked. Iodized Key unlocks iron gate. Instead of examining the iron gate: say "The iron gate blocks you from going to the outside road, you remember how it feels to be stood up on a date. Like a door slamming shut in your face as your date walks away. How embarrassing." Instead of unlocking iron gate with Iodized Key: say "the iron gate slowly opens and hits your head. Ouch."; now iron gate is unlocked; now the iron gate is open. Instead of unlocking iron gate with steel key: say "Ah. Victory. Wait no never mind. The door just rumbles and grunts in anger. You fed it the wrong key!" Instead of unlocking iron gate with the glittering Key: End the story saying "Ah. Victory. Wait no never mind. The door rumbles. It rumbles for a while. Then you suddenly feel excruciating pain. The electricity flows through your body coursing and burning every inch of your body. The door probably didn't like eating the glitter." The Road is a room. It is east of iron gate. "Freedom at last! The nice fresh air of freshly baked donuts. You want to leave but as you look down you realize you are bleeding! A man approaches you, he looks friendly. Maybe you should talk to him.". Jason is a man. Jason is wearing a white lab coat. Description of Jason is "a bearded man in a white lab coat with a bit of donut filling on his beard". Understand "him", "white lab coat", and "man" as Jason. Talking to is an action applying to one visible thing. Understand "talk to [someone]" or “converse with [someone]” as talking to. Check talking to: say "[The noun] doesn't reply." Instead of talking to Jason: say "Jason looks at your feet and forehead for a second. 'Is that blood? Hold on let me help you' "; end the game in victory. Instead of taking Jason: say "You arms extend as you attempt to capture the man. However, he swats your arms away and calls 9/11 on you. Unfortunately, you are taken away to jail and die shortly after due to blood loss."; end the game in death.
