Definition: An animal is female if they have a vagina.

An animal is either captured or free. An animal is usually free.

Persuasion rule:
	persuasion succeeds if the noun is captured.

understand "capture [animal]" as capturing.
Capturing is an action applying to one thing.

Check capturing:
	if the noun is captured, say "You've already caught [noun]." instead.

Carry out capturing:
	now the noun is captured.

Report capturing:
	say "Congratulations! You have caught a [noun]!"


Getting Started is a room.

Gender is a kind of value. The genders are masculine, feminine, and unknown. Understand "male" or "man" or "M" as masculine. 

Understand "female" or "woman" or "F" as feminine.

A person has a gender. The gender of the player is unknown.


When play begins: 
	now the command prompt is "Please choose a gender for your character. >".

After reading a command when the gender of the player is unknown: 
	if the player's command includes "[gender]": 
		now the gender of the player is the gender understood; 
		if the gender of the player is masculine, now the player is male; 
		if the gender of the player is feminine, now the player is female; 
		say "[line break]Thank you. Moving on..."; 
		now the command prompt is ">"; 
		move the player to Professor's Lab; 
		reject the player's command; 
	otherwise: 
		say "Sorry, we're not ready to go on yet -- please pick a gender to begin. >"; 
		reject the player's command.


Professor's Lab is a room. There is a table in the professor's lab. The table is fixed in place. The drawer is a closed openable container. The drawer is part of the table. Inside the drawer is a pokeball. 

The description of the table is "A table with a single drawer. The professor said to look inside it."

Bulbasaur is an animal in the professor's lab. Charmander is an animal in the professor's lab. Charmander is an animal in the professor's lab. Squirtle is an animal in the professor's lab.
 
A Pokeball is a container.

South of the professor's lab is Pallet Town. 

The description of pallet town is "A quiet little town, though many ambitious Pokemon Trainers have come from here."
