The attic is a room. "You are inside your Grandmother's attic. Summer vacation has finally begun and while you thought you would finally have some free time without having to complete any more pesky school assignments, your mother has forced you to help her pack up your Grandmother's house."
The chest is in the attic. The chest is a closed locked openable container. The violin is in the chest. Boxes are in the attic. An old typewriter is in the attic. A portrait covered in cloth is in the attic. The ladder is in the attic. "The ladder takes you down from the attic into an upstairs hallway."
The description of the chest is "An old worn out steamer trunk sits in the middle of the room covered in dust. There is a small golden latch that is currently locked."
The description of the boxes is "They're just boxes. Probably filled with old lady junk. They smell like mothballs."
The description of the old typewriter is "It's a typewriter. Who cares?"
The description of the portrait covered in cloth is "It's a large rectangular portrait probably of my grandfather. Besides it's not what I'm looking for."
The ladder is a door. The ladder is down from the attic. The ladder is up from the hallway.
The hallway is a room. "You are in the upstairs hallway of your Grandmother's house. You see two bedroom doors and another staircase heading downstairs. Your Grandmother's bedroom is to the east and your Mother's old bedroom is to the south."
The white bedroom door is a closed door. The white bedroom door is west of Grandmother's bedroom. The white bedroom door is east of the hallway.
Grandmother's bedroom is a room. "Grandmother's bedroom is a total disaster. Your mother is standing in the room pulling things out of the drawers and piling them on the large bed at the center of the room."
Elayne is a person. Elayne is in the Grandmother's bedroom.  
Every turn when the player can see Elayne in the Grandmother's bedroom:
            say "The Mother looks up with  a pained expression anxiously gazes at you and says 'Have you found your Grandmother's violin?...'"

The pink bedroom door is a closed door. The pink bedroom door is north of Mother's old bedroom. The pink bedroom door is south of the hallway.
Mother's old bedroom is a room. "Mom's old bedroom is EXACTLY the way it was when she moved out even down to her posters of New Kids on the Block. There is a pink girly canopy bed, two nightstands, a dresser, and a bookshelf."
There is a dresser in Mother's old bedroom. "There is a white worn dresser with a small jewellery box on top of it." The small jewellery box is part of the dresser.
The small jewellery box is a closed openable container. "There is a small gold key inside of the small jewellery box." The small gold key is inside the small box. The small gold key unlocks the chest.

The block giving rule is not listed in the check giving it to rules. 


Understand "talk to [someone]" as a mistake ("To start a conversation, try to ASK [the noun] ABOUT something or TELL [the noun] ABOUT something."). 

Instead of asking Elayne about something:
    say "She blinks at you."

Instead of telling Elayne about something:
    say "She looks around anxiously"

Every turn when Elayne has the violin: say "'...Oh! You have... Thank you so much for finding my mother’s violin. It is the only thing I have left of her.'"
