When play begins: Say "You open your eyes very slowly. You are alone. In the distance you can hear soft singing, as if it was a lullaby. You feel very light like you are made of air. All you see is plain white space.". The Field of Bliss is a room. There is water in the field of bliss. Water is edible. The Forest is a room. Instead of drinking water: Say "You feel slightly dizzy. The Blank area of the field melts away. You find yourself in a heavily wooded forest. Suddenly, you remember. Your name is Coraline. You're seventeen years old. You are dead. You were murdered. By who, you don't know. What you do know is that you are in the underworld. You were sent here when you died. When you arrived, you hated it here. You wanted to go back to the real world. You wanted to find your murderer. You tried to escape twice. Huffelpuffs appear to be a cross between a raven and wolf. Their face is angular and covered in grey fur. Their bodies are exactly the same structure as a wolf, but with the addition of wings. And their bodies are covered in long black feathers. These creatures can fly. So, in one of your escape attempts, you tried to ride on a huffelpuff. On it's back, you flew. Unfortunately, huffelpuffs can't fly more then a mile with someone on their backs. After one mile, the two of you fell from the sky. You both died. When humans, like yourself, died in the Underworld, you return to the field you found yourself in just moments ago, the same place you were when you first arrived here. The second time you tried to escape, you had simply walked as far as you could. Somehow you made it all the way to the gates of the underworld. How? You can't seem to remember. All you know that when you got there, a large dark figure grabbed you and you blacked out. The next thing you remember is waking up in the Field of bliss. Suddenly, you're determined to finally get out of the Underworld."; Move water to the gate; Move player to forest. There are trees in the forest. There is a path in the forest. Walking is an action applying to nothing. The clearing is a room. The clearing is north of the forest. Description of clearing is "You have moved further along the path. The forest around you is thickening. You push branches out from in front of you. With a lot off effort, you push through to a small clearing. This clearing splits the path. To keep walking on the path, you have to pick whether you go east or west. "; The Volcano is a room. The Beach is a room. The Volcano is west of the clearing. The Beach is east of the clearing. Description of the beach is "You leave the forest. In front of you there is a vast open sandy space. Just beyond the sand to the east, you can faintly see a gaintic lake. To the north you can see a bridgecrossing the lake.". After going west to Volcano: Say "The air here is very hot and humid. In front of you is a large mountainlike brown shape with a red puss like substance is draining out of the montain. It's a volcano! You can hear a faint rumbling here. Uh oh. The volcano is erruppting!"; End the game in death. The Bridge is a room. Description of the Bridge is "As you approach the bridge, you notice that it is missing multiple pieces so you can't easily walk across." North of bridge is stream. Crossing is an action applying to one thing. The Bridge is north of the Beach. The Lake is a room. The Lake is east of the Beach. Description of the lake is "The lake is a large body of water. East, on the other side of the lake is a large gate. Seeing the palace triggers a memory from your mind. On your second escape attempt, you saw this gate. It is the exit to the underworld. All you have to do to leave the underworld is cross this lake. (Note to player, 'swimming' is not understood by inform. Try walking instead).". The Lake bank is a room. The Lake bank is east of the Lake. Description of lake bank is "As you put your hand into the water to start swimming, you realize that you can't put your hand into the lake. Curiously, you try to put your other hand into the water. You can't put that hand in the water either. You stand. Suddenly, you decide to try and walk across the lake. You succed in walking across the lake. From here you can see better the exit of the underworld. It is to the east from where you are now." . The gate is a room. The gate is east of the lake bank. Hades is a person. Hades is in the Gate. There is cake in the Gate. Description of Hades is "Hades, as you now remember, is the ruler of the underworld. He is tall and dark looking. During your second attempt, Hades was the one who stopped you. As you now remember, he told you that you couldn't go back to the real world. He said that you didn't belong there. You didn't believe him, so when you tried to escape, he killed you. Now, he just looks at you. 'Coraline,' he says, 'why do you insist on trying to escape? You cannot go back to how your life was. But I cannot keep you here. So I give you the choice. You can this cake, and never remember how your life was and be at peace with your afterlife or you can walk through the gate and go back to the world and never find peace. The choice is yours.'". Cake is edible. Instead of eating: Say "The world blanks out before you. You finally feel at peace."; End the game in death. The world is a room. The world is east. After going east to the world: Say "You have finally succeded in leaving the underworld. You should feel victorious. But you don't. You feel empty and out of place. But you're free." ; End the game in victory.
