The Baroom Room is a room. The mean man is a man in the baroom. The mean thing is in the baroom. Persuasion rule for asking people to try doing something: persuasion succeeds. [Instead of asking the mean man to try doing something: rule succeeds; continue the action.] Before asking the mean man to try giving something to the player: say "'Why should I?'. The mean man sticks his tongue out." instead. The description of the mean man is "The mean man scowls at you. He has [a list of things carried by the mean man].". The mean door is a closed locked door. It is east of the baroom room and west of the mean room. the matching key is the mean thing.
