"Martyn Pig: The Decision" The Living Room is a room. "A messy living room with empty beer bottles scattered across the floor. The old, broken armchair sits in the corner. On the floor lies [if unexamined]something you can't quite make out[else]the lifeless body of your father[end if]. There is a door to the east that leads to the Kitchen." The Kitchen is east of the Living Room. "The small, cramped kitchen isn't much better. The sink is piled high with dirty dishes, and an ashtray sits half-full on the table. A phone hangs on the wall." The Backyard is south of the Living Room. "The small backyard is overgrown and neglected. An old shovel leans against the wall." The body of your father is in the Living Room. The body is undescribed and fixed in place. "The lifeless body of your father lies still on the floor. The scene feels so surreal that you can't decide what to do." The phone is in the Kitchen. The phone is fixed in place. The shovel is in the Backyard. The shovel is portable. Instead of taking the body: say "You can't just lift him up. It's impossible. But you have to figure out what to do..." Instead of using the phone: if the player is in the Kitchen: say "You look at the phone. Should you call the police? Or... should you try to keep this a secret?"; now the player carries the dilemma. The dilemma is a thing. "A moral dilemma weighing heavily on your mind." After taking the dilemma: say "The decision feels impossible. What will you do? [1] Call the police or [2] try to cover it up?"; now the player carries the choice. The choice is a thing. Understand "1" or "2" as the choice. After examining the choice: if the player carries the shovel: say "You decide to bury the body in the backyard. It feels heavy, wrong, but you do what you think you must."; end the story saying "You made your choice."; if the player carries the phone: say "You decide to call the police. After a long conversation, you realize that this was the right thing to do."; end the story saying "You made the right choice."; Test me with "look / take body / east / use phone / take shovel / south".
