The carrying capacity of the player is 10. When play begins: say “You wake up to find yourself lying face up in a shallow puddle of water. You look around to find yourself inside the plane you were taking to visit your parents in Puerto Rico. There is no one to be found on the plane other than yourself. Everything is torn apart and you can hear the faint sounds of flames and crashing waves to the north. Explore the island and try to find a way to get rescued, but make sure you stay hydrated!†The airplane is a room. The description of the airplane is "Your plane crashed, and you are the only survivor! Explore the island, stay hydrated, and find a way to get rescued.". A key is here. The description of the key is “A small key, it looks like it could open a suitcaseâ€. Scrap wire is here. Scrap metal is here. The South Beach is north of the airplane. The description of the south beach is "There is debris and luggage covering the beach. You still find no survivors other than yourself. Looking toward the island, you can see that it stretches on for miles. To the north you can see the treeline of a forest and to the south sits the reminants of the half sunken plane.â€. Here is a suitcase. Suitcase is a fixed in place closed openable locked container. The key unlocks the suitcase. Inside the suitcase is water. After taking water: Say “You have retrieved two bottles of water from the suitcase. You will need water to survive on the island. If you run out of water, you will die.â€. A First Aid Kit is here. A Bucket is here. The description of the bucket is “A dirty yellow bucket. It looks like it could come in handy for collecting water.â€. Food Rations is here. The Mountain is north of the river. The description of the mountain is “After walking up a winding, stone path, you come to the top of the mountain. Here you can see the entirety of the island. The only way down is south to the river. From there you can go west to the jungle or east to the East Beachâ€. Flint is here. The description of Flint is “A shiny silver rock, it looks like it could help you light a fire.â€. Rocks is here. before going to the Mountain: If the player carried the radio: Say “You use the radio to contact a nearby ship. They respond within minutes and promise to come rescue you. After waiting for a few hours, you can see the steam from the ship in the distance and know that YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED!!.â€; End the story. The Jungle is north of the South Beach. The description of the Jungle is “A dense, gorgeous jungle. There is movement and life everywhere you turn. You see animals that you never imagined existed before. To the south you can hear the faint sounds of waves crashing on the sand. To your west there is a dark path that leads to an eerie clearing. To your east you hear the sound of running water. You can see the small opening of a cave to your north.†Wood is here. The description of wood is “These fallen trees look like they could help you make a fire or a shelter.â€. Coconuts is here. The description of cocoanuts is “A tropical Fruit, while they could help subside hunger, they are very heavy.â€. The Swamp is west of the jungle. The description of the Swamp is “A creepy, dark bog. The air is thick and muggy. There are bugs flying around everywhere. You cant help but feel as though your being watched. You hear waves crashing to the west, and the swamp opens up to a jungle on the eastâ€. A Skeleton is here. The description of the skeleton is “an old corpse covered in tattered clothing. It looks like a silver key is in the front pocket of the skeleton’s ripped jacket.â€. On the skeleton is a silver key. The silver key is not described. Vines is here. Description of vines is “Thousands of thick, dark vines cover everything. You must move them to see even two feet in front of you.â€. Swamp Water is here. The description of swamp water is “Algae filled water. Do you dare take a drink?†after taking the swamp water: If the player carries swamp water: say "You drank the nasty water, suddenly feeling ill. You lean against a tree facing the skeleton and he laughs as you take your final breath. "; End the story. The West Beach is west of the swamp. The description of the West Beach is “A yellow sand beach filled with debris from the ocean. You can see dead fish everywhere, the smell makes you dizzy. There is a line of trees leading east, back to the swamp.†Seashells is here. The description of seashells is “a variety of unique and colorful seashells. They would make an interesting souvenir if you ever escape the island.†Driftwood is here. The River is east of the jungle. The description of the river is "You come to a break in the trees and stumble upon a clear river. To the west you can see the path back to the jungle and to the east you see an opening in the trees. To the north you see a large mountain. The water looks cool and refreshing, you fill your bucket with water". Before going to the river: If the player does not carry the bucket: move the player to the Jungle, without printing a room description; say "you need a bucket to go to the river"; stop the action. The East Beach is east of the river. The description of the East Beach is “A sad, plain beach. The beach is mostly empty except for some very sparse palm trees. The water to the east almost has a greyish tone to it, but you can see fish jumping! To the west you still hear the river flowing". A washed up net is here. The description of the washed up net is “An old, seaweed covered net. Maybe you could use it to catch some fish if you survive.â€. The ocean is east of the East Beach. The description of the Ocean is “You swim out in attempt to catch some fish, but come up dry.". Before going to the Ocean: If the player does not carry the washed up net: move the player to the East Beach, without printing a room description; say "you need a net to go to into the ocean "; stop the action. After going to the ocean when the player is carrying rocks: Say "you quickly tire because of the rocks you were carrying"; End the story. After going to the ocean when the player does not carry the First Aid Kit: Say "You cut your foot on some jagged coral but since you don't have a first aid kit, you have no way to take care of the wound. Suddenly when you were just over your head in the water you saw the fin of a shark approaching. Stricken with panic, you got tangled in your own net!"; End the story. The Cave is north of the jungle. The description of The Cave is “A dark, cold cave filled with spider webs and rats. You can see a faint light coming from the other end of the cave.â€. Before going to the Cave: If the player carries flint: Say “You use your flint to light a torch and begin your journey through the darkness.â€. Before going to the cave: If the player does not carry flint: move the player to the Jungle, without printing a room description; Say "you need a torch to enter the cave, try finding some flint"; stop the action. The North Beach is north of the cave.The description of the north beach is “After walking north through the cave with your lit torch, you find yourself at a peaceful, pristine beach.". A Chest is here. The chest is locked. The silver key unlocks the chest. A notebook is in the chest. The description of the notebook is “After flipping through the water stained pages, you find instructions to make a radio that will get you off of the island. The page says that you must combine scrap wire with scrap metal. â€. The radio is a thing. Understand "combine [something] with [something]" as combining it with. Understand "combine [something] and [something]" as combining it with. Combining it with is an action applying to two things. After combining the scrap wire with the scrap metal: say "You have created a radio, try going to the top of the mountain to get better signal."; remove the scrap wire from play; remove the scrap metal from play; now the player carries the radio.
