"Mi Casa" by Sam The Entryway is a room. "The entryway to this apartment is slightly untidy, but even from this vantage you can tell this is more or less par for the course. An archway directly in front of you is actually a half-wall, a sort of window into the rest of the apartment and a divider between yourself and the dining room. Just in front of the archway, and by extension directly in front of you, is a small table. There is a door behind you (west) and a closet to your left, and on your right (south) is a leaded-glass bookshelf as well as the entry to the living room." West of the Entryway is a door called the Front Door. Before listing nondescript items: if The Front Door is marked for listing: now The Front Door is not marked for listing. The description of the Front Door is "A white-painted door. There is a long horizontal scuff in the paint around waist-height." Instead of opening the Front Door, say "You want to leave? Now? After coming all this way? No." In the Entryway is a container called the closet. The closet is closed. The closet is openable. Instead of taking the closet, say "No." Before listing nondescript items: if the closet is marked for listing: now the closet is not marked for listing. The description of the closet is "A white-painted door. Small, and by its position it is likely to be a coat closet." After opening the closet, say "The closet is pretty stuffed with coats, boxes of toys, wrapping paper, and costumes. It's all just well enough stacked that nothing falls out." In the closet are coats. The description of the coats is "Several coats that suggest the owner fantasizes about living somewhere colder and wetter where wool, leather, and/or a long swooshy black raincoat would be acceptable. They mostly don't show much wear." Instead of taking the coats, say "It's not that cold outside." In the closet is wrapping paper. The description of the wrapping paper is "Several rolls of shiny wrapping paper are stuffed precariously on the top shelf atop various boxes of toys and such." Instead of taking the wrapping paper, say "There's no point. It's like a dollar for five rolls." In the closet are costumes. The description of the costumes is "Dresses, coats, robe, and other costume pieces from shows and reenactment events." Instead of taking the costumes, say "They're heavy and stuffed rather tightly in here. More hassle than it's worth." In the closet are boxes of toys. The description of the boxes of toys is "Cardboard and plastic boxes and cartons of Barbies, Legos, Capselas, Lincoln Logs, and plenty of stuff to make any eight year old duly envious." Instead of taking the boxes of toys, say "They're wedged in, on, and under all sorts of things. You worry that taking out one box would cause the rest to collapse on you." The half-moon table is in the Entryway. The table is a supporter. The description is "The table's surface is a half-circle, more or less, though its edge is decoratively wavy and irregular at the corners. It is wooden and painted brown with three lathed legs." On the half-moon table is a cross. The cross is a thing. The description is "This is a cross made out of some kind of fired clay. The back has a rough wedge taken out of the top to allow it to be hung. The front has been cast to resemble the rather crude early Celtic Christian Christs with a very large head and rather short arms. It has a rough charm, but there's no indication as to why it was on the table." Before taking the cross, say "You feel safer from vampires." On the half-moon table is a cowl. The cowl is a thing. The cowl is wearable. The description is "This is a rather violently pink cowl. It appears to match the armwarmers. It is very soft and warm and may be cashmere. Its primary purpose is to prevent cold wet gusts from making it under the coat through the neck." Before wearing the cowl, say "You slip the cowl over your head and settle it around your neck. You feel much warmer and pinker."Before taking off the cowl, say "You remove the cowl. You are less warm but also possibly a bit more dignified." On the half-moon table are armwarmers. The armwarmers are a thing. The armwarmers are wearable. The description is "These armwarmers are violently pink. They appear to match the cowl. They are very soft and warm and may be cashmere. Their primary purpose is to keep the wearer's hands, wrists, and forearms warm in case cold, wet gusts of wind try to go up their coat-sleeves." Before wearing the armwarmers, say "You pull the armwarmers over your arms and hands and slide your thumbs through the thumb-holes. You feel much warmer and pinker." Before taking off the armwarmers, say "You remove the armwarmers. You are less warm but also possibly a bit more dignified." Instead of taking the half-moon table, say "Why would you want that? It doesn't go with anything you own." The leaded-glass bookcase is in the Entryway. The bookcase is a supporter. The description of the bookcase is "This is a lovely oak bookcase. Its top is about four and a half feet high. The doors of the bookcase are made of clear and colored leaded glass." Instead of taking the bookcase, say "It's oak and full of books. It's too large and heavy for you to lift." On the leaded-glass bookcase are animal figurines. The figurines are a thing. The description of the figurines is "Adorable figurines and really fairly well made. There is a turtle, a squirrel, a toad, a bird, and a pair of hedgehog-shaped candles." On the leaded-glass bookcase is an owl-shaped bowl. The description of the bowl is "A lovely if somewhat kitchy blue-green glass bowl." On the leaded-glass bookcase are books. The books are a thing. The description of the books is "Loads of books. The ones in this bookcase appear to all be fiction." Instead of taking the books, say "You can't possibly carry all of them and there's no point in strewing them around the apartment. It doesn't need to be more of a mess." In the owl-shaped bowl are keys. The keys are things. The description of the keys is "A car key, several house keys, a mailbox key, and two or three of those little tags that theoretically get you discounts."
