"Fungus" by "Cooper McHatton" When play begins: say "26 years ago you fell into a warp pipe where you were taken to a kingdom made of fungus from the 1980s. A huge lizard/turtle grabbed you and took you to a castle. You were eventually rescued by a plumber and later forced to compete in athletic events. 20 years later, in a game of kart racing, you crashed after slipping on a banana peel. Life has never been the same. You now live in a world of..."; remove fire flower from play. Use no scoring. The description of the player is "You are a really fun guy." [YOUR HOUSE] Mushroom House is a room. "[if mushroom house is unvisited]Yawn . . . you aren't as young as you once were. You force yourself out of bed, scratching your head. A quick look at the window reveals that you've slept in and need to get to work. Feeling too lazy though, you just glance around the room. Not much of a place, but cozy and you've grown used to the earthy smell. Your vibrantly colored desk with a note you wrote yourself sitting atop, the painting on the wall required to be there by the monarch of the land, and your humble little coat rack with your mass produced pants, vest, and poofy polkadot hat suspended on its arms. Your little front door is to the east.[end if][if mushroom house is visited]Not much of a place, but cozy and you've grown used to the earthy smell. The description of the white picket fence is "A little white picket fence that surrounds your house." The gate is northeast of Your Yard and southwest of The Crossroads. It is a closed, openable, locked door. It is scenery. The bronze key unlocks the gate. After unlocking the gate with the bronze key for the first time: say "You shove the key into your gate's lock and give a it a turn. You hear a sliding click as the lock releases. No time to ponder why in the Mushroom Kingdom you locked your gate from the inside.". [THE CROSSROADS] The Crossroads is east of the Pipe Yards and south of the Road. "[If the Crossroads is unvisited and the flowers are unexamined]You stumble out of your gate pondering what you could possibly get the princess. Coming out of your thoughtful trance you realize you've stumbled into the Crossroads, to the west is the Pipe Yards (the best way to get from one place to another) and to the north is the road to the castle. Your yard is to the southwest.[end if][if the Crossroads are visited]You are standing in the Crossroads. The Pipe Yards (the best way to get from one place to another) is to the west, the road to the castle is to the north, and your yard is to the southwest.[end if][If the flowers are unexamined][one of] Hmm... Suddenly a massive, carnivorous plant shoots up out of the pipe and closes its teeth around you. You are devoured."; end the game in death. [DONUT PLAINS] Donut Plains is a room. "[if Donut Plains is unvisited]You are thrown violently out of the pipe face-first into the ground. Pulling yourself up, you realize you have made it to Donut Plains. You see a sign, some stone blocks, a number of trees, and the pipe that brought you here (which, on this end, seems to be purple).[end if][if Donut Plains is visited]You are in Donut Plains. The castle is totally deserted, ransacked, and emptied of all of its contents." The message is in the Castle. It is fixed in place. "The only thing visible here is a message scrawled across the wall." The description of the message is "You walk up to the message and gasp in horror." Understand "wall" as message. After examining the message: end the game saying "It reads: I'M SORRY TOAD, BUT YOUR PRINCESS IS IN ANOTHER CASTLE. -BOWSER."
