"The Gamer" by Erik Marinos When play begins: now the time of day is 9:15 pm; change the right hand status line to "[time of day]"; say "[italic type] This is an interactive game about a gamer finishing his gaming session and realizing that he has 45 minutes before his parents come home and see that he has yet to finish a single chore!" The Studio Room is north of the Hallway. "You are in the Studio Room, standing up you check the clock. It says 9:25, you realize that your parents will arrive at 10pm and you have three chores left to do but have no clue what they are. The Hallway is to your south." The Living Room is east of the Hallway. "[if the Living Room is unvisited] You enter the Living Room. The Hallway is to the west and the Kitchen is to the north.[end if][if the Living Room is visited] You come back to the Living Room, the Kitchen is to the north.[end if]" The Hallway is a room. "[if the Hallway is unvisited]You have entered the Hallway, the Living Room can be seen to the east. [end if][if Hallway is visited] You leave the room and enter back into the Hallway. The Living Room is to the east.[end if]" The Kitchen is north of the Living Room. "[if the Kitchen is unvisited]You have entered the Kitchen, there is a sink, cabinets, a stove, a fridge, and a washing machine. The Living Room is in fact, to the South. [end if][if Kitchen is visited] You enter the Kitchen, everything seems like it's still there. Not like it was going to move anyway, but still good to know it's all here. If you can't remember the important stuff here here's a tip! SINK and DISHWASHER, good things to examine just in case! [end if]" The sink is a open container, fixed in place in the Kitchen. It is scenery. The description of the sink is "A sink filled with dirty dishes, might be one of the chores I had to do. Maybe try to GET the dishes and put them somewhere to clean them?" The cabinets is fixed in place in the Kitchen. It is scenery. the description of cabinets is "There are too many cabinets to examine, all I know is that it has either spices, teabags, and maybe snacks." The stove is fixed in place in the Kitchen. It is scenery. the description of stove is "It's a stove, nothing new or crazy." The fridge is fixed in place in the Kitchen. It is scenery. the description of fridge is "It stores food, and keeps it cool. Look man I'm still in high school I don't know everything about the fridge" The washing machine is a closed, fixed in place, openable container in the Kitchen. It is scenery. the description of washing machine is "It cleans dishes, which could help me with clean this singular dish" Inside the sink is the dish. The dish unlocks the washing machined. The description of the dish is "A singular dirty dish that seems like it could be put into a washing machine." After opening the washing machine: say "One chore done, and since it's taken me an entire three days to get this far I'll have to stop it here."
