When play begins: say "Please give me a break, this is my first game."

When play begins: say "It is October 21, 1992. You have just arrived at your house. After a long day at work, you are excited to finally go inside, eat dinner, and go to bed."

Outside Your House is a room. "It is a brisk autumn day. The leaves fall off of trees all around you. The sun is barely visible, peeking over a mountain in the distance. A small two-story house stands before you to the south."

Entrance Hall of Your House is south of Outside Your House. "The entrance of your house is a nice and cozy room with white walls and a staircase to the west. The living room is to the east. The kitchen is to the south. You think to yourself, 'I cannot wait to sit down and ha-' Your thought was interrupted by a massive thud coming from upstairs. 'What could that have been? Should I forget about it and go eat my dinner in the kitchen or should I go and check it out upstairs?'"

Living Room is east of Entrance Hall of Your House. "You ignore the noise and enter the living room. There is a couch and a TV mounted on the wall of this room."

Controller is in Living Room. The description of Controller is "A white gaming controller with two joysticks, a d-pad, and four buttons."

TV is in Living Room. The description of TV is "A large flatscreen TV is mounted on the wall of the living room."

Instead of taking TV: say "I don't want to watch TV now. I should go get some dinner in the kitchen."

Instead of taking Controller: say "I don't really feel like playing video games right now. Maybe later."

Kitchen is south of Entrance Hall of Your House. "You ignore the thud for now and enter the kitchen. A table sits at the center of the room. A bowl of food sits on the table."

A bowl is in Kitchen. The description of Bowl is "The bowl is filled to the brim with food. What food? Who knows?!"

A chair is in Kitchen. The description of chair is "It's a chair!"

Instead of taking a bowl: say "You hear another loud thud coming from upstairs. You drop the bowl in shock and surprise of what you just heard. 'There it is again! I have to see what it is now!'"; now a bowl is off-stage.

Alien Spacecraft is west of Entrance Hall of Your House. "As soon as you got to the top of the stairs, everything went dark. 'What happened?' Nothing but dark, sweeping walls now surround you. 'Where am I?' you think to yourself. A never-ending loud hum fills the space. 'Could this be? Am I...?' You figure out that your thoughts must be right. As crazy as it seems, you were abducted by aliens. And this is their spacecraft. 'Where I could be going? Why do they want me?' Your mind races. You discover that you are free to move around. 'I have to find a way out.'

You exit your 'cell' and find a hallway that goes in three different directions. To the east is a hallway that has a sign overhead that reads 'Z'. North is a hallway that reads 'C', and west is a hallway that reads 'Y'. You think, 'These letters are from our alphabet. Why are these aliens using them?'"

Hallway C is north of Alien Spacecraft. "You follow the hallway to its end. A dead end. 'I should head back to the center hallway.'"

Hallway Y is west of Alien Spacecraft. "You follow the hallway to its end. A dead end. 'I should head back to the center hallway.'"

Hallway Z is east of Alien Spacecraft. "The hallway leads to a door. On the northern facing door is a sign that reads 'Dop Epacse' 'What does that mean?!' You hear a loud thud from down the hall behind you. 'They know I'm gone.' Should I go back down the hallway or do I take my chances with this door?'"

Instead of going north in Hallway Z: say "The door slams behind you as soon as you enter the room. A loud engine begins to make noise. 'Oh.' You figured it out. Dop Epacse is just escape pod backwards. The escape pod explodes with light and ejects from the alien spaceship. Through a small window, you see the giant ship hovering over the earth. 'Incredible.' But one thing still confuses you. 'Why did the aliens uses our human alphabet?' Suddenly, the pod starts to shake as you enter Earth's atmosphere. An familiar alarm blares nearby. It strangely sounds like a phone ringing. 'Wait,' you think, 'I know that sound.' A blinding light in shines from the window.

The alarm sounded like a phone ringing because it was a phone ringing. You're at you're desk at work. It was all a dream. 'Impossible.' you thought, 'How could I have dreamed all that?' Unless you didn't dream it. Somehow, what if it was real?
