"The Contest". The story headline is "A game". When play begins: say "I had an idea. A contest. Everyone who wants to enter, make the title of it 'Entry for contest'. Remember, don't make new entries (or edit them) after 10/20/2020.[line break][line break]Now for a game...". A thing can be broken. A thing is seldom broken. Hurt is a number that varies. Hurt is 0. Roof is a room."You are on the roof of a house. There [if the skylight is broken]are two ways down. The broken skylight, and the steep, slippery roof.[else]is only one way down: the steep, slippery roof.[end if]". Instead of attacking the skylight for the first time: say "You break the skylight. Shards of glass fly away, and slide down the roof. Blood runs down your knuckles."; now the skylight is broken; now the skylight is open; now the skylight is unopenable; now hurt is 1. The skylight is a closed unopenable door. It is down from the roof and up from the Bathroom. Every turn: if hurt > 0 begin; if hurt is 1, say "Your knuckles hurt."; if hurt is 2, say "Your knuckles hurt real bad."; if hurt is 3, say "Your knuckles hurt so much you can't really move them."; if hurt is 4, say "Your knuckles are white because they've lost so much blood."; if hurt is 5, say "It isn't just your knuckles that are getting affected. It's your whole arm."; if hurt is 6, say "Actually, you feel quite giddy."; if hurt is 7 begin; say "You... get... very... dizzy... and... fall... to... the... ground..."; end the story; end if; increment hurt; end if. The bathroom is a room."You are in someone's bathroom.". The wooden door is a closed locked door. It is west of the bathroom."A wooden door is here, closed and leading west.". The cabinet is a closed openable container in the bathroom."There is a cabinet here.". Instead of taking the cabinet, say "You can't.". The bandage is in the cabinet. Instead of wearing the bandage: say "You put on the bandage. Now you feel a lot better."; end the story. The potty is in the bathroom. Understand "toilet" as the potty.
