Town Square is a room. "[if unvisited]You are a tourist on the planet Margraxl. Or rather, you are pretending to be a tourist. In reality, you are a treasure hunter, and you’ve received a tip that there is treasure hidden in the tiny Margraxlan town of Woxl. To move around Woxl, type commands such as 'north.' You may also look at objects more closely by saying 'examine _____.' You can also try opening things, picking up objects, or asking a character about something. [end if]You are standing in Woxl’s town square. To the north is a museum. The library stands to the south. A bakery is to the east, and a park lies to the west. There is a fountain in the centre of the square." A fountain is in Town Square. The placard is part of the fountain. The placard is a closed openable container. In the placard is a key. The description of the fountain is "The fountain depicts a rather pompous-looking Margraxlan with water shooting out of his 13 tentacles. Your Margraxlese is limited, but you think the fountain’s placard says that he was an explorer. While attempting to read the placard, you notice that it is loose." The description of the key is "The key looks very old." The Library is south of the Town Square. "There are rows of shelves holding books in Margraxlese. The librarian is sitting behind the desk." The librarian is a person in the library. There are books in the library. A newspaper is a thing. The newspaper can be found or lost. The newspaper is lost. Instead of examining books: say "You can't make much sense of the Margraxlese by yourself." After asking the librarian about something: say "The librarian is familiar with the story and assures you that it's just an urban myth. However, he knows there is an article in a Woxlese newspaper from 10 years ago that might interest you. He shows you the newspaper."; Move the newspaper to the library; Now the newspaper is found. Instead of taking the newspaper: say "'Sorry, sir. The newspapers can't be taken out of the library.'" The description of the newspaper is "The librarian helps you decipher the Margraxlese. The article is about the lost treasure. From it you learn that the explorer who founded Woxl hid it when he left for further adventures, intending to come back for it, but was killed by a Squik before he could return. The treasure is rumoured to be a beautiful chain of a rare and unusual metal that came from a faraway planet. The explorer’s diaries are on display at the museum." The Museum is north of the Town Square. "The museum is quiet. A book is open in a glass case. You can't see anyone here." A book is in the museum. The description of the book is "The book is lying open. On the plaque on the case, you recognize the name of the explorer. You can decipher some of the words on this page, and there are some drawings of the wading pool in the park. It seems as if the explorer was involved in building the wading pool." The Park is west of the Town Square. "This is a typical Margraxlan park. It's main feature is a large wading pool, as the Margraxlans are particularly fond of water." There is a wading pool in the park. The wading pool is fixed in place. The filter is part of the wading pool. The filter is a closed openable container. In the filter is a box. The box is a closed openable locked container. The key unlocks the box. In the box is a paperclip chain. The description of the wading pool is "The wading pool is decorated in a lovely swirling mosaic made of tiles. You notice a filter on one side of the pool." The description of the filter is "You can't see through the screen very well, but it seems as if the filter will open." The description of the box is "The box is made out of rock and is very sturdy. There is a keyhole on the front." After opening the box: say "There is a very long chain of paperclips inside the box -- a true treasure for a Margraxlan!"; end the game in victory. The Bakery is east of the Town Square. "The baker is standing behind the counter. He smiles at you when you enter." The baker is a person in the bakery. After asking the baker about something: say "The baker laughs. 'Just an old local myth. Gives our town history some flavour. Speaking of flavour, it’s free woxlcake day.' He gives you a woxlcake."; Now the player has the woxlcake. The woxlcake is edible. After eating the woxlcake: say "It tastes like sardines and almonds." The description of the woxlcake is "The woxlcake is a brilliant green and looks a little squishy."
