"Trapped In A Castle" [INTRODUCTION] When play begins: say " You have accepted a job working for a royal family, but when you get to the castle, it looks like it has been deserted for centuries. As you step inside to look for any signs of life, the door slams behind you. You are trapped." [Foyer] The Foyer is a room. the description of the foyer is "A moth eaten tapestry hangs on the wall near a broken coat rack. A ratty old jacket that appears to have something in the pocket hangs from the coat rack. It looks like a disc. When you get even closer, it looks like a key. As you look around, you hear noise coming from far away. The noise gets louder and louder, and then suddenly stops. You have no idea what you just heard." The coat rack is in the Foyer. The coat rack is fixed in place. The jacket is on the coat rack. The jacket is fixed in place. The disc is on the jacket. The description of the disc is "Maybe you'll make it out of here, maybe you won't. But you will not even get close without this disc." [Séance Room] The Séance Room is a room. The Séance Room is west of the Foyer. The description of the Séance Room is "As you look around the room, you realize where you are. This was the place where the king used to attempt to summon spirits of his dead servants to serve him again. You can see all of his plans on the wall. The queen told you to never come to this room. Now you know why." [Lavatory] The Lavatory is a room. The Lavatory is north of the Séance Room. The description of the Lavatory is "As you enter this room, you can immediately tell where you are. A toilet with deep scratch marks in it resides at the back of the room. As you advance toward the toilet to examine the marks, you feel a creeping sensation on the back of your neck. You immediately begin to flail around to get whatever it is off you. When it finally falls on the floor, you realize that you were very close to immense pain. There is a black widow spider on the floor." [Great Hall] The Great Hall is a room. The Great Hall is north of the Foyer. The description of the Great Hall is "As you stumble through the doorway, you begin to hear whispers from above you. *Are you the new maid?* *Are you here to work for us?* You look to where the voices are coming from, and realize that on the ceiling there are thousands of black widow spiders crawling all over each other and whispering quietly. Upon second glance, though, not all of them look real. In fact, the spider above you is definitely false. It looks a bit like a spider shaped key. Once you move on from that disturbing discovery, you realize that there is a leather door to the east of you." The false spider is a thing in the Great Hall. The description of the false spider is "This spider does not even look like a spider. Inside of it, you can see a note saying THIS IS HELPFUL IN YOUR ESCAPE, BUT IS ONLY PART OF IT. THIS KEY HELPED ME ESCAPE ONCE." The leather door is a closed locked door. The false spider unlocks the leather door. The leather door is east of the Great Hall. The leather door is west of the Pantry. [Kitchens] Kitchens is a room. Kitchens is east of the Foyer. The description of Kitchens is "As you enter the room, you can see hundreds of empty spice bottles on a giant shelf. As you look around, you notice a panel of metal behind the shelf. A metal door, which is a very random thing to find in a kitchen." The metal door is a closed locked door. The disc unlocks the metal door. The metal door is north of the Kitchens. The metal door is south of the pantry. [Pantry] Pantry is a room. Pantry is north of the metal door and east of the leather door. The description of the Pantry is "This room looks like it might have been filled with foods once. You can see mouse poop all over what looks like a bag of flour behind some old wine bottles. As you move closer, you see that the bag is actually full of ashes. When you realize that, you begin to frantically look around, realizing that this is no normal pantry. Soon, you notice that the wine bottles actually have poison in them, and that buried in the ashes of the bag lies a letter." The bag of ashes is a thing in the Pantry. The bag of ashes is fixed in place. The ash-covered note is in the bag of ashes. The description of the ash-covered note is "IF YOU ARE READING THIS, YOU NEED TO KNOW THAT THE KING IS COMING. LEAVE WHILE YOU CAN." [Dungeons] Dungeons is a room. Dungeons is north of the Pantry. The description of Dungeons is "As you push through a thick wall of cobwebs, you slam into something cold. As you look up, you see that you are in a prison cell, and that the thing that you walked into is a skeleton with a tooth pendant around its neck." The skeleton is a thing in the Dungeons. The skeleton is fixed in place. The tooth pendant is on the skeleton. The description of the tooth pendant is "As you look closer at it, you see a note hidden behind the pendant. THIS PENDANT COULD HARM YOUR ENEMIES. IF YOU HAVE NONE, IT COULD HARM YOU." [Library] Library is a room. Library is west of Dungeons. The description of Library is "When you walk through the door, you begin to sneeze uncontrollably. The air is thick with dust, and the shelves look like they have not been touched in years. as you make your way towards them, the dust begins to thicken, and you can see fog creeping in through the open window. Your escape! You run closer to it, but right as you get ready to jump out, a pale figure that seems to be made of glass moves in front of you. They are wearing a tattered curtain from the window and are blocking your path. You can see a pendant around their neck that looks like a finger bone with a ring on it. As you move even closer, you notice a keyhole in place of their heart. It seems as though they can be unlocked and therefore, you might be able to escape." The glass figure is a closed locked door. The gold key unlocks the glass figure. The glass figure is north of the library and south of the courtyard The finger pendant is in the Library. The description of the finger pendant is "The figure would be angry if you took this. It seems very important to them." After taking the finger pendant: say "The figure brutally attacks you. You are never seen again."; end the game in death. [Royal Bed Chamber] Royal bed chamber is a room. Royal Bed Chamber is north of Lavatory. The description of Royal Bed Chamber is "When you stumble through the doorway of this room, you can instantly tell that something is very off about it. Somebody used to sleep here, you think to yourself as you approach the giant bed. As you walk even closer, you see that there seems to be something under the sheets. A giant doll perfectly mimicking the queen's features lies in the bed. You reach out to it, and notice a flap of porcelain covering the doll's forehead. When you peel it back, you see a small gold key inside the head. As you reach inside, you hope that the prickly feeling on your hand is not a spider." The gold key is a thing in the royal bed chamber. The description of the gold key is "THIS IS YOUR ONLY WAY OUT. USE IT WELL." [Courtyard] Courtyard is a room. Courtyard is north of the glass figure. The description of Courtyard is "You made it out alive. That is all that matters. You may never know what evils lurk in the depths of that ghostly castle or what happened to it in the first place, but you are never taking that job again. You see your phone, laying there on the ground, just waiting for you to call your dad to drive you home." The phone is a thing in the courtyard. After taking the phone: say "You immediately call your dad, and you are so happy when he replies and tells you that he is already on his way and will be there in two minutes." ;End the game in victory.
