"basement level" by kappa The maximum score is 40. When entire game begins: say "you need to go downstairs and clean up the entire..." When play begins: change the right hand status line to " "; player is carrying a phone. the description of the phone is "your old iphone. it is currently dead because you lost your charger. I wonder where it went?" the stairwell is a room. the description of stairwell is "a winding stairwell that leads down to your basement. coats line the walls, and the wooden stairs creak ominously." the main basement room is below the stairwell. "[if the main basement room is unvisited]you decend into a bare, stone-walled room with tiled floors. nothing but a fridge lays in the corner, making a faint buzzing sound. there are doorways to the east and west.[end if][if the main basement room is visited]the fridge seems to buzz louder... there are still doorways to the east and west[end if]" the fridge is in the main room. it is a closed, openable container. in the fridge is the apple and the carton of milk. the fridge is fixed in place. The apple is edible. The description of the apple is "a large red apple!" After taking the apple: increase score by 10 the description of the carton of milk is "a carton of milk you bought from last week. it's 2%." After taking the carton of milk: increase score by 10 the old guest room is west of the main room. "[If the old guest room is unvisited] as you enter the room, the lights flicker, and dust swirls around scarily, whirling around the ornate walls. [end if][If the old guest room is visited]the dust has settled. there is still one exit - to the east.[end if]" the old futon is in the old guest room. the description of the old futon is "an old red futon with a large rip on the seat. it seems to be quite old" the old futon is fixed in place. the locked chest is in the old guest room. the locked chest is a closed, locked container. the ornate key unlocks the locked chest. in the locked chest is the wood key. the description of the locked chest is "A detailed, wooden chest, not unlike those in a dungeon. a large keyhole is on the front." the description of the wood key is "A smooth wooden key with the word 'cellar' etched into it." "[if the clearing is unvisited]the boxes get lower and lower, until you are standing in a great clearing. you can see an odd stone coffin near you, and there are no exits besides where you came from.[end if][if the clearing is visited]the scale of this clearing is even more grand than the hallway...[end if]" the stone coffin is in the clearing. the stone coffin is a closed, locked container. the stone coffin is fixed in place. the phone unlocks the stone coffin. in the stone coffin is the ornate key. the description of the stone coffin is "An old, messed up coffin. a rectangular slot sits on the front. Where have you seen such a phone-like shape?" After taking the ornate key: increase score by 10 the winding passageway is northeast of the box hallway. "[if the winding passageway is unvisited] the hallways have gotten more intricate. it's harder to move around, and there are more passageways branching off, to the north and south[end if][if the winding passageway is visited]you can't help but wonder just how much space is down here as you look at the north and south passageways." the paper room is north of the winding passageway. "[if the paper room is unvisited]the passageways slowly turn into piles of paper and file cabinets, and you notice a very old paper on the floor. to your east there is an exit[end if][if the paper room is visited]some of these papers are from the 90s... there are still two exits - the cellar east and the south.[end if]" entrance is a room. entrance is east of the paper room.
