"The Friendly Debate" by Katherine Malloy The Foyer is a room. "The front door leads to a wide foyer, it is too dark to see inside. You stand at the entrance scanning for a light source. You see a flashlight standing upright on the mantle of the fire place." The Flashlight is an object. The Flashlight is in the Foyer. "Now that you can see, you begin to observe that is decorated with the finest mahogany wood and golden photo frames. A chandelier glistens in the moonlight as it hangs from the high ceiling overhead. You see a grand staircase to your right." The Grand Staircase is a room. When play begins: say "The grand staircase creeks with each step as you ascend. The closer you get to the second floor, the tighter your grip becomes to the banister. You pause at the last step, taking a deep breath, before continuing into the Main Corridor." The Main Corridor is a room. Instead of going to the Main Corridor: say "You've won, congratulations!"
