"Ye Olde Cabin" by Kendall Dunkelberg When play begins, say "This is a very simple game that is just to test out creating a couple of rooms, objects, and two endings. " The path is a room. The description of the path is "It is a beautiful day to walk along this path. To the north you see something curious. Go that way." The clearing is a room. The Clearing is north of the path. The description of the clearing is "On your walk through the woods, you come upon a clearing with an old clapboard cabin northwest of where the path enters the clearing. The windows are covered in spiderwebs. The porch seems to barely be hanging onto the side building, yet you gingerly step onto it." The porch is a room. The porch is northwest of the clearing. The rocking chair is in the porch. The rocking chair supports a flashlight. A cabin door is here. " A frigid breeze brushes your face. To the west, the cabin door is slightly ajar. It looks dark in there. You might want a light." The mainroom is a room. The mainroom is west of the porch. The description of the mainroom is "In the dim light of the cabin, you can faintly see a tin can on the floor." A tin can is here. A shelf is here. "There is a shelf on the wall ." A book is on the shelf. Ant Attack is a scene. Ant Attack begins when the player has the tin can. When Ant Attack begins: end the story saying "That blasted can is covered in fire ants! You drop the can and run screaming from the cabin, down the path looking for a way to get those ants off of you and find some relief from their stings. You should know better than to pick up things you if you can't see what's in them!". Reading is a scene. Reading begins when the player has the book. When Reading Begins: If the player has the flashlight, say "The book is 'One Writer's Beginnings' by Eudora Welty. You've always wanted to read that, so you decide to do that right now!"; else say "It's too dark to read without a flashlight.". Every turn: if the player has the book and the player has the flashlight, end the story. Release along with a "Standard" website, an interpreter, and the source text.
