Instead of taking the map: say "You pick up the map. It may be helpful later..."; Instead of giving the Special Mushroom to Toad: say "Toad is delighted! 'Thank you so much! This is exactly what I needed. Here, take this key as a token of my gratitude.' Toad hands you a small key."; remove the Special Mushroom from play; award 1 point. The Forest is a dark room.
