"The Haunted Hospital" Include Basic Help Menu by Emily Short. Include Basic Screen Effects by Emily Short. Use no scoring. When play begins, say "[bold type][red letters]Directions:[roman type] To move around type n,e,s,w. To see all items type show me. To examine object type x and the name of the object. To speak to a character type character. To pick an object type take or pick up and the name of the object. To unlock or open a door type unlock or open and the name of the door." When play begins, say "[default letters]" The Operating Room is a room. "You wake up under a flickering light. Your eyes adjust and look around, gripping the table underneath you. Something flies past the open door north of you. You jump off the table and look for a weapon." A scalpel is here. A syringe is here. The Hallway is a room. The Hallway is north of the Operating Room. "In the hallway, there are two paths. The left hall leads to the West Wing, and the right hall leads to the East Wing. Which path will you take?" The ICU is a room. The ICU is west of the Hallway. "In the ICU, you see several empty blood-stained beds before you. As you walk around, the temperature drops, a shiver runs down your spine, and it feels like someone is watching you..." A note is here. The description of the note is "[italic type][blue letters]I've seen the shadows move. They are coming for me soon. They will come for you too. You don’t have much time. None of us do.[default letters]" After dropping the note: say "..." The Morgue is a room. The Morgue is east of the Hallway. "It is dark inside the Morgue, you feel around the walls for a light switch, but it does not work." A table is in the Morgue. The flash light is a device on the table. Carry out switching on the flash light: now the flash light is lighted. Tapping is a scene. Tapping begins when the player has the flash light. When the Tapping begins, say “[bold type][italic type]tap, tap, tap" After switching on the flash light: say "You see refrigerated chambers south of you." Refrigerated chambers are south of the Morgue. The description of the Refrigerated chambers is "Each chamber door has a name on the front. You scan the chambers but stop when you see that one that has your name on it." The chamber is a closed openable container in the Refrigerated chambers. A corpse is an object in the chamber. A key is in the corpse. After opening the chamber: say "You gasp seeing a corpse before. There is something protruding from inside the corpses stomach. You need a scalpel to cut open the corpse." Understand the command "use" as something new. Understand "use [scalpel] on [corpse]" as using it on. Using it on is an action applying to two visible things. Carry out using something on something: if the noun is the scalpel: if the player carries the scalpel: if the second noun is the corpse or the second noun is corpse: say "You cut the corpse open."; otherwise: say "You aren't carrying the scalpel."; Corpse moaning is a scene. Corpse moaning begins when the player has the key. When the corpse moaning begins, say "[italic type][green letters]aaawwwwooouuuugh! The corpse starts to attack you! To run go north then west. To stay and fight stab corpse with syringe. [default letters]" Understand the command "stab" as something new. Understand "stab [corpse] with [syringe]" as stabbing. Stabbing is an action applying to two visible things. Carry out stabbing something: if the noun is the corpse: if the player carries the syringe: if the second noun is the syringe: say "You stab the corpse and it falls to the ground. To exit the morgue, go north, then west.";
