"Explore and Examine" by Misc Practice When play begins: now the time of day is 8:00 am; change the right hand status line to "[time of day]"; say "Your arms stretch up as you wake up, your eyes a bit drowsy, but then facts about everything in your room spring to your mind. Find out the facts using the commands x or l!". [YOUR ROOM] Your Room is a lighted room. "Welcome to your room! You just woke up on your bed. Please feel free to explore and examine! After all, it's the title of this game! The living room is to your left." A thing can be drinkable. Instead of drinking something drinkable: say "You drink the [noun] with happiness, tasting deliciousness everywhere."; Remove the noun from play. A thing can be unstealable. A thing is usually not unstealable. Instead of taking something unstealable: say "That's not yours!" The cup of milk is a drinkable object in Your Room. The description of the cup of milk is "Here's an educational fact: Did you know that scientists have discovered how milk assists you in falling asleep and is commonly taken before bed? The milk's amino acids (specifically tryptophan) will signal your brain to release a small amount of a tranquillizing substance." The blue glass cup is an object. The description of the blue glass cup is "Fact: Glass can be naturally formed when lightning strikes sand. It is also known that the human brain can turn to glass in specific circumstances.". After examining the cup of milk: increase score by 1. Instead of drinking the cup of milk: remove the cup of milk from play; say "You now have an empty blue glass cup. The blue glass cup is in your inventory."; now player carries blue glass cup. After examining the blue glass cup: increase score by 2. The bed is a supporter in Your Room. It is scenery. The description is "A warm and comfy bed, perfect for dozing." Player is carrying a sedimentary rock. The description of the sedimentary rock is "A rock you collected...because you're a rock collector! Fact: There are three types of rocks, sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous." The description is "A sheet with Cody's dirty dog paws all over it. Go check the colourful sweater in the bakery that's been there for over a year to retrieve a fact." After asking Cody about "cody": say "Cody looks at you.". After asking Cody about "coding": say "Cody looks at you.". The table is a supporter in the living room. It is scenery. This reminds you that you're going on a great safari...for facts! Check that polar bear toy in the bakery." After taking the computer, increase the score by 2. Instead of dropping the computer: say "You're going to break it."; decrease the score by 1. [DINING ROOM] North of the Living Room is the Dining Room. The Dining Room is a room. "This is where you eat; find food supplies to the east." The dining table is a supporter in the Dining Room. The description is "A dining table that has been used for a few years." [PANTRY] East of the Dining Room is the Pantry. The Pantry is a room. "A stock of food supplies." The carrot cake is an edible object in the Pantry. The description of the carrot cake is "A delicious carrot cake from the Vevintire bakery." After eating the carrot cake: say "Yummy!"; increase the score by 1. [SECRET ROOM] Below Your Room is the Secret Room. It is a room. "A secret room you found when you accidentally tripped on one of the floorboards under your bed." [LIBRARY] South of your room is the Library. It is a room. "Your home library with lots of books." [VEVINTIRE STREET] West of the Living Room is Vevintire Street. It is a room. "Vevintire Street, a small peaceful street with the occasional car vrooming across it. The Vevintire bakery is north, and your dojo is south. West is Vesta Street.” The pencil is an object in Vevintire Street. The description is "Fun fact: graphite was discovered in 1594 and named black lead until 1779. It was renamed graphite because scientists discovered it wasn't lead! " After examining the pencil: increase score by 1. [BAKERY] North of Vevintire Street is the Bakery. It is a room. It was common in c. 870, and people still do it today! You can do it yourself by looking it up." After examining the colourful sweater: increase score by 1. [DOJO] South of Vevintire Street is the Dojo. The Dojo is a room. "You take off your shoes and enter the dojo, bowing." [VESTA STREET] Vesta Street is a room. It is west of Vevintire Street. “Vesta Street, a little-known street here. To the east is Vevintire Street. Fact: 9% of the asteroid belt’s mass is an asteroid named Vesta.” After entering Vesta Street: increase score by 1.
