When play begins, say "You wake up in the middle of a shadowy forest with nightfall soon approaching. The scent of pine and dirt flood your senses. Your memory is fuzzy- the last thing you remember is exploring a hiking trail until you were render unconscious. You are left with nothing but the unfamiliar woods and what seems to be whispers in the air. Find a way out of the forest before you lose the sunlight to guide you ". The forest is a room. the description of the forest is "The forest is dense and unsettling with its trees casting long shadows even in daylight. Thick moss clings to the ground. Strange shapes flicker in your peripheral vision- branches shaking in the wind, trees stumps that resemble twisted-up faces. To the north, you notice a clearing that seems to have more sunlight than where you are in the heart of the forest". The Clearing is north of forest. the description of The Clearing is "You step into a clearing where an ancient stone shrine stands, covered in moss and vines. A statue of a forgotten deity towers above you, its face worn but serene. Candles—some still flickering—are scattered on the altar, suggesting someone has been here recently. On the shrine, a journal is sealed with a lock. Out of the corner of your eye, you see something glittering in the sunlight". The Weeping Willow is west of the forest. the description of The Weeping Willow is " A twisted tree dominates this clearing, its gnarled roots snaking through the earth like grasping fingers. The branches droop heavily, their leaves swaying despite the still air. A small wooden box sits at the base of the tree." The Forgotten Gate is south of forest. the description of The Forgotten Gate is " A stone archway, half-collapsed and overgrown with ivy, stands before you. Strange carvings mark the structure, and an eerie breeze seems to drift through it. You feel a tingling sensation when you approach". the player is in the forest. The shrine is in The Clearing. The old key is in The Clearing. The journal is on The shrine. " On the shrine, a journal is sealed with a lock.". the journal is a locked container. Release along with a "Standard" website, an interpreter, and the source text.
