"Halloween Adventure" 

When play begins:
say  "It is Halloween night, and you and your friends are trick or treating in your friend's neighborhood. You and your friends have been walking from door to door, plastic buckets in hand, ringing doorbells and receiving candy. After many successful trips, your best friend wants to visit the old house at the end of the block, as she heard that the owners are handing out king size candy bars to trick or treaters. Before you can reply, your friends excitedly run to the house and go inside. With no choice, you follow them and step inside. However, as soon as you enter, the door slams behind you. It is now locked, and you are trapped inside." 

The Entrance hall is a room.  "You find yourself inside a Victorian-style manor. Standing in the entrance hall, an elegant chandler hangs from the ceiling and a bear skin rug sits on the floor. The floors and walls are covered in cobwebs, and moonlight shines from the windows. To your surprise, your friends have disappeared! You can see multiple doors all leading to different rooms: to the west is the kitchen, and to the north is a staircase going down to a basement. All other rooms are destroyed or boarded up so you cannot enter them. Which direction do you want to go?" 

The kitchen is a room. The kitchen is west of the Entrance hall. The fridge is in the kitchen. The fridge is a closed, openable container. In the fridge is a slice of cake and moldy cheese. "The kitchen is very outdated, with dirty tile and peeling wallpaper. The cooking appliances are covered in layers of dust and look broken. However, there is a working fridge in the corner of the room. If you open the fridge, you could find those king sized candy bars! You should examine what you find." 

The description of the moldy cheese is "It's cheese that's fuzzy and turning green. It smells awful. You should probably put it back and leave it alone." The moldy cheese is edible. After eating moldy cheese: say "You eat the moldy cheese. Congrats, you won the Darwin award! You spend the rest of the night in the hospital explaining your mistake to the baffled doctors and your disappointed parents. Your family is now in debt from your medical bills. Your parents had to work extra jobs to pay the money off, and all the stress caused them to get a divorce. You now have to give up your first-born son to a witch to pay off the rest of the debt yourself. "; end the game in death. 

The cake is edible. The description of the cake is "It is a gorgeous Victoria sponge cake, topped with vanilla icing, white flowers, and cherries on top. It looks fresh and makes your mouth water at the thought of devouring it." After eating the cake: say "You take a huge piece of cake and stuff it in your mouth. It is best cake you have ever eaten in your life. It is so delicious that your health is restored, all illness is cured, and you have reached enlightenment. You are no longer restricted from earthly desires and you travel beyond the mortal plane. However, you still have the north wing to discover!"; award 50 points. 

The basement is a room. The basement is north of the Entrance hall. "You descend the staircase: the steps seem to go on forever. Hopefully you don't trip. At the end of the stairs you find yourself in a creepy and dark basement. You can barely see a thing, but you can make out a large wooden chest before you. You can hear a soft noise coming from the chest, and it seems to be moving around as if something is inside it. You open the chest..." 

The rat king is a person in the basement. 

Every turn when the player can see the rat king:  
say "You see a huge rat in the chest. It is the biggest rat you have ever seen. It wears a little shirt that says KING RAT. Along with a little crown, you can safely assume that this is some type of rat king. Maybe you should examine the rat king?" 


After examining the rat king: 
	say "The rat replies in a thick New York accent, [bold type]Hey I'm walking 'ere! What's it to ya toots?[roman type]Maybe you should ask it a question? The rat huffs and becomes annoyed. He rolls his eyes. [bold type]Do I have to explain everything to ya? I am obviously the rat king! This is my home, I giving out candy to trick or treaters but when I turned around to get the candy, some jerk kids locked me in this box! You must be one of those candy hungry brats, have some king sized chocolate bars and SCRAM! [roman type] The rat turns around and ignores you. You know have the biggest chocolate bar you have ever seen...your friends will definitely be jealous of you! You need to try it!".


The chocolate bar is in the basement. The chocolate bar is edible. After eating the chocolate bar: say "You eat the chocolate bar (which tastes the same as a popular chocolate brand we can't mention as this game won't survive a lawsuit) and for good measure you put the rat king in your pocket and take him with you. I can't believe you. You kidnapped an innocent rat! How could you?! The rat king protests, and you can barely carry him back home, as he reeks of cigarettes. You have to hide the rat from your parents, but he seems content on a diet of string cheese and yogurt that you feed him. After a while, you learn to live with the rat. You may have to pay rent to your rat king overload, he is excellent in chasing away pesky children off your lawn. When the global rat take over comes, you will be ready.."; award 50 points. 


Every turn while in the basement:
if score is 100
begin; say "You have won the game because you have earned 120 points. After having the craziest Halloween adventure, you hear a loud sound in the distance. It is beeping: the sound of your morning alarm clock! It was all a crazy dream!...But why is there a rat on your desk? THE END?"; end the game in victory;
end if.
