When play begins, say "You finally sit down and take a sip of your cup of coffee. Then you start to read the newspaper. Ah. Finally a relaxing morning after many days of investigating. You then spit out your coffee. Oh no not again you think as you read the police blotter. [bold type] COUPLE MURDERED LARGE REWARD FOR WHOEVER FIGURES OUT WHO DID IT[roman type]." Kitchen is a room. Rolled Up Piece of Parchment is an object. The Table is an object. The Table is in Kitchen. The Table is fixed in place. Vase is an object. Vase is in The Kitchen. Flower is an object. Flower is in Vase. The description of flower is "A yellow daffodil with a green stem." The description of vase is "A beautiful piece of china with dragons engraved on it's side." The description of table is "An average size wooden table." Newspaper is an object. Newspaper is in The Kitchen. Every turn when the player has been in the Kitchen for exactly four turns: say "You fall asleep and wake up the next morning with the new newspaper on you lap you read it and find out that the mystery has already been solved, but the identity of who did it is confidential.". After taking the flower: move Rolled Up Piece of Parchment to Vase; say "After you take the flower from the vase you notice a small piece of rolled up parchment in the bottom of the vase.". The description of Rolled Up Piece of Parchment is "You unroll the piece of parchment carefully because it is closed up. You read the title it says [bold type]Time Machine[roman type].". Instead of examining Rolled Up Piece of Parchment for the second time, say "You read the text and it says that if you put a chicken wing(to make it fly), an old newspaper(to go back in time), and the fantasy book [italic type]A Wrinkle In Time[roman type](to make the machine believe it could go back in time remember, it's a fantasy book anything can happen) together in a vase. This will create a time machine. You now know what you have to do don't you? Make the time machine, go back in time, figure out who murdered the people, and earn the money." Kitchen Door is a door. Kitchen Door is north of kitchen. The description of Kitchen Door is "A wooden door with a beautiful brass doorknob." Damp Dark Street is a room. Damp Dark Street is north of Kitchen Door. The description of Damp Dark Street is "The crime district isn't a very good place to live in but when you're a detective it can be helpful living close to the action sometimes." KFC is a room. KFC is east of Damp Dark Street. Knife is an object. Knife is in Damp Dark Street. The description of Knife is "You pick the Knife up off of the road and pocket it. It looks like it would be sharp enough to do some real damage." Farm is a room. Farm is north of KFC. The description of Farm is "A very run down farm with one measly little chicken." Instead of touching chicken, say "You reach out to touch the chicken but it flies away just out of reach you could probably catch it if you had, I don't know say a knife." Library is a room. Library is west of Damp Dark Street. The description of Library is "An old run down library with no exits except for the one that you went through to enter. There is only one room in this library. A copy of [italic type]A Wrinkle in Time [roman type] is sitting there on a table in front of you." A Wrinkle in Time is an object. A Wrinkle in Time is in Library. The description of A Wrinkle in Time is "A small paperback book with a picture of a centaur with a slight blue green tint, rainbow wings where his arms should be, and aqua hair." Killing myself is an action out of world. Understand "kill myself" as killing myself. Carry out killing myself: end the game saying "You take a kitchen knife and slit your own throat. Oh well, no one liked you anyways. As your life flashes before your eyes you realize what a horrible one it was." Time Machine is an object. The description of Time Machine is "Wow, how did a couple of random objects thrown together in a vase make this huge contraption." Every turn: if the newspaper is in the vase: if the wing is in the vase: if Wrinkle is in the vase: Move Time Machine to location; remove the vase from play.
