"Michaelmctext" by sonicSnap The Outdoors is a room. "[if unvisited]You are outside of a small, ashy brick building. There's an antenna coming out of the roof. There also appears to be a town of some sorts behind you. It seems to be a decent distance away, but close enough for your eyes to render it. The building is to your NORTH. The town is to your SOUTH.[otherwise]You are outside of a small, ashy brick building. There's an antenna coming out of the roof. The sun has set, and a thick fog and been laid around you. The building is to your NORTH. The town is to your SOUTH. You can now END the game, if you're sure you've found everything.[end if]" Instead of going south in the outdoors: say "[if the player is in the outdoors for the first time]You turn around. The sun is currently setting, turning the sky a shade of deep red. A fog appears to be forming. There's a town on the horizon, but you decide that the building behind you is more important. You turn back around.[otherwise]You turn around. The set has set, turning the sky a shade of pitch black. The fog that was previously forming has completely engulfed the town that was previously visible. You see what appear to be glowing lights right at the edge of the fog. This creeps you out, and you decide to turn back around.[end if]" Instead of taking: say "You probably shouldn't steal." The Office? is north of the Outdoors. "You walk into what appears to be a home. Or an office? You can't tell. It's a medium sized room. Not a lot of space, but enough to stand up and stretch once in a while. There's a cluttered desk in the back. On the desk, you can spot quite a few things. An office chair has been pushed as far into the desk as possible. There's a microphone in front of it, a strange machine to the left, and an old style computer to the right. A mouse and keyboard are plugged into the computer. Laying on the keyboard is a pair of professional looking headphones. There are speakers above the whole setup, seemingly connected to everything else. There are books scattered around. One has a quill on top of it, and there's a stack of papers next to it. Outside of the desk, you note a displaced floorboard in a nearby corner, and a spider on it's web." A desk is here. The description of the desk is "It's a desk. Seems to be made out of spruce. There's no drawers or anything, making it seem more like a table, if you think about it. There are a bunch of cables underneath, not a bit of cable management in sight." A microphone is here. The description of the microphone is "It's a microphone. There's a stand and pop filter. It's almost completely pitch black, and it feels a bit weird to be around, almost wither like. There's a cord coming out of the back, connected to the various machines around the desk. You can't spot any branding." A strange machine is here. The description of the strange machine is "The strange machine has an antenna connected to it, reaching through the ceiling and continuing outdoors. It" The computer is a device in the Office?. The computer is fixed in place and switched off. The description of the computer is "[if the computer is switched off]It's a computer. The tower is under the table, and theres a slightly yellowed keyboard and mouse connected to it. The monitor is definitely older, it's one of the box ones. You think it's called a CRT. The computer is currently off, but you can spot a Windows XP sticker on the tower. Checks out.[otherwise]It's a computer. The tower is under the table, and theres a slightly yellowed keyboard and mouse connected to it. The monitor is definitely older, it's one of the box ones. You think it's called a CRT. The screen faintly glows, displaying three open windows, and the Windows XP taskbar. You spot a 'broadcasting' program, another to do with microphones, and Spotify. This seems illegal.[end if]" The keyboard is here. The description of the keyboard is "The keyboard is yellowing. There's a wire coming out of the back. It seems to be connected to the computer." The mouse is here. The description of the mouse is "The mouse is yellowing. Not too much, but it's still visible. It seems to be connected to the computer, through a wire coming out of the front." The headphones are here. The description of the headphones is "A pair of professional looking headphones. They're wired, and connected to the nearby computer. They say 'Sennheiser' on the side, with a logo that you assume has to be Sennheiser's. Looking closely at them, they appear to be over-ear headphones, with high quality cushioning on the ear and headband bits. Comfortable. They're laying on the keyboard." The speakers are here. The description of the speakers is "The speakers are hanging above everything, tucked into the top corners of the room, as speakers usually are. There are wires coming from the back, leading underneath the desk, and into the various machines scattered about. They look to be pretty old, any visible branding has faded away." The books are here. The description of the books is "There are a bunch of books scattered about the desk. Some actually on the desk, some on the floor, some on the various machines on the desk. They seem to be varying topics, from cryptid stories, to general mythos, to stacks of paper hastily staped together. Where the hell did this guy get these?" The book & quill is here. The description of the book & quill is "One of the books has a quill laid on top of it. In reality, its a stack of paper stapled together, with a flat piece of pretty uneven leather slapped on top. Peering inside, it appears to be a personal journal, by a man named 'Michael'. You decide to put it back, not wanting to invade anyone's privacy. More than you already have, at least." The stack of papers is here. The description of the stack of papers is "[one of]You examine the stack of papers. They appear to be hastily staped together, and lacking a leather front like the book and quill's. This one has big words, 'THE VAULT', on the front, seemingly to make up for the lack of a cover. Peeking inside, the papers seem to be mostly blank. Nothing interesting.[or]You note another, seperate stack of stapled together papers under the first. The cover page is blank. Once opened, it only contains a list of four people, with scribbled notes next to and under each of their names. Not very interesting.[stopping]" A floorboard is here. The description of the floorboard is "[one of]You inspect the floorboard. ...there's dirt underneath. Not sure what you were expecting.[or]You inspect the floorboard again. Instead of dirt, there's now a hole, with a broken ladder leading into it. It seems pretty deep, like if you threw a pen in, it'd take a while to hit the bottom. You squint just hard enough, and spot two glowing white lights at the bottom. They look a bit like eyes. You slowly move the floorboard back into place.[or]You'd rather not.[stopping]" A spider is here. The description of the spider is "[one of]The spider appears to be a Brown Recluse. You're not sure how you know that.[or]Look at the recluse.[stopping]"
