"Lost Axe" by Stanley Shih

Section 1 -- Setup

when play begins, say "It's a refreshing morning here at Fangorn forest, which is rare, because it has been raining for the past few days. Because it has been raining, you, the lumberjack, who has not been able to go out and collect firewood. The wife asks you politely to go out to the north forest and collect some today, as the rain will probably resume tomorrow. You agreed to her request." 

The maximum score is 5.

Section 2 -- Rooms

The Cozy Home is a room. "This is your home, twenty years ago you built it with your dad, and you've lived here ever since, there is a forest entrance at north. The wife is at the kitchen, there is an axe inside your chest."

The Forest Entrance is north of Cozy Home. "The entrance to a large forest which many lumberjacks from around the area, the Fangorn Forest is at the north of the entrance. However, you noticed something was unusual today. There are authorities blocking the entrance to the forest, and many of the lumberjacks are blocked at the entrance, including one of your good friend Peter.".

The Fangorn Forest is north of Forest Entrance. "A beautiful forest. Although you have been here many times, something about this being in this forest makes you feel happy and relieved. To the west is the passage you took to get here."

The Passage is a door. It is northwest of the Forest Entrance and west of Fangorn Forest. The Passage is closed and unopenable. 

Section 3 -- Kinds
	
A blade is a kind of thing. A blade can be used to cut something.

A tree is a kind of thing.


Section 4 -- Characters

The Wife is a woman in Cozy Home. The description of The Wife is "The love of your life". The indefinite article of the Wife is "the".

The authority is a man. The description of the authority is "Authority from nearby town that stops people from going into the forest." The authority is in Forest Entrance. The indefinite article of the authority is "the".

Peter is a man in Forest Entrance. The description of peter is "[if we have not examined Peter]A good friend of yours, he has worked with you on multiple occasions, he seems to have something that he wants to tell you (examine again) [otherwise] 'If you go northwest and see the mark I left on the second tree, you can get into the forest from there' says Peter. [end if]". 

Section 5 -- Objects

A Chest is in the Cozy Home. The chest is a closed openable container. 

Axe is in the chest. The description of Axe is "An old axe that is kept in a good condition, it has sentimental meaning to you.". Axe is a blade.

Maple Tree is in Fangorn Forest. Maple Tree is a Tree. The description of Maple Tree is "Maple Tree is a great choice of firewood, as it produces strong heat and scent."

Oak Tree is in Fangorn Forest. Oak Tree is a Tree. The description of Oak Tree is "Oak Tree have dense hardwood that allows highest energy content per cord, allow it to burn longer than other type of firewood."


		
Section 6 -- Rules


instead of taking the Chest:
	say "The chest is too heavy to carry with you.".
	
Instead of taking the tree:
	say "You can't take the tree with you, but you can cut it down with an axe.".
	
Instead of going north from Forest Entrance:
	say "'This entrance is blocked, due to the soil erosion caused by the rain from the past few days.' says authority."
	
After examining Peter for the second time:
	say "You look at the direction Peter points at, you noticed the marks on one of the trees.";
	now Passage is open.

Instead of cutting the tree:
	if player is carrying a blade, 
		increase score by 1;
		if the score > 0,
			say "You will need [maximum score - score] more wood for the next few weeks";
		if the score > 4,
			end the story finally saying "You have collected enough wood to last you and your wife for another week";
	otherwise say "You do not have anything to cut it with"
